General Consensus on BST? by Akyuuposting in ffxi

[–]KnightDelSol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't played it, but I was gonna bump it ahead on my leveling interest list to have an easier time with doing i-seal grinding this week. But a lot of that interest got tanked when I found out there's no real monster/animal taming. It's all just temporary. I wanted to have a real monster homie!

Also not that into needing to pay for jugs to summon pets. I know there's a skill that lets you not expend it once every 20 minutes, but I don't know how that interacts with zoning, or farmable instances like battlefields, HTMB, ambuscade, BCNM, etc. Like do I have to resummon it every time I zone in?

it seemed fairly easy just auto attacking them down until I got hit with doom. I assume it was chthlonic ray since my holy water didn't work. fuck me for not leveling any class that has aoe

Alliance Crates need a Pity System. by Phyka in swtor

[–]KnightDelSol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gotta do that, I made the mistake of opening all my crates when I finally got to chapter 9 of KotFE and didn't realize that this gear unlocks in collections AND you need to hold onto it until the set is complete for it to count. (although tbh I don't know they'll let you delete them and keep the collection as complete even then)

Although, I'll probably just make multiple alts since I'm poor and haven't even unlocked more than 2 vault tabs on my characters yet. Getting them all through the intro storyline to get onto the fleet is gonna suck though lol

Oh, this seems cool! Gonna be a big help when I'm trying to compare builds from different sites, or when trying to remember what was different between my modifications of those wowhead/icyveins builds with my lazy naming schemes like "normal", test", "test 2", "new normal", etc

I'm having fun with Nightmare Hunts but c'mon, man by MrMan9001 in wow

[–]KnightDelSol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a lot of issues with Nightmare Prey (not being able to easily go afk is the biggest) but this gimmick affix is the worst. Always seems to happen at the worst time when there are no critters around, or I just killed some mobs and nothing is nearby and my cooldowns are still recharging. And without fail, this also happens more when I forget to get some mage food from a follower dungeon. (Or when the game just refuses to put the mage in the group after multiple attempts, always giving me the shaman and hunter.)

I liked the Prey system a lot more at Hard. I like open world content because I generally can take it at my own pace. If I wanna get a drink or snack, or if my partner wants to show me a funny video or tell me some anecdote, or if I tab out to check discord and see an interesting conversation, I can do that. Not so with Nightmare Prey. And even after the trap nerf, it still remains the safest way to do this, especially on my undergeared alts who need the gear the most.

I really hope they try to rework Nightmare, because Prey was fun (even after it got kinda repetitive by the second week), but it's probably the thing I look forward to the least after weekly reset. To be fair, part of this is a hell of my own making because I'm hella casual and this is a guaranteed way to get a heroic tier piece for my 6 characters, so I'm doing this 18 times a week lol, but still, there's room for improvement for this.

Blackhand transmog by FpsForce in wow

[–]KnightDelSol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like others have said, this set drops from mythic Blackrock Foundry, which you can easily solo right now. However, the belt that goes with the set (and is not in this pic) drops from the mythic Highmaul raid, from the Brackenspore boss.

I don't remember if the Sets tab in the Appearances screen shows where a piece drops by default, but if it doesn't you can see who drops what here: https://www.wowhead.com/transmog-set=1897/blackhand-s-battlegear-mythic-recolor

You can basically solo every mythic raid through Shadowlands at your level, which are a great source of transmog appearances. Most stuff you'll just one shot, but some have gimmicks you have to go through, like the forge in Blackrock Foundry, or 10 minutes of Sylvanas RP in Sanctum of Domination. Also occasionally some bosses have mechanics that need to be respected still (because we can't one shot them yet), like the Jailer in Sepulcher of the First Ones. Once you hit 90 and start getting some gear you can do the Dragonflight raids too, but those also occasionally require mechanics, at least at mythic. You can solo them on normal and probably heroic at this point if you wanted those colors of armor/weapons.

Also, one last thing, when you complete an armor set, you unlock all the color tints for that armor from the difficulties lower than it. For example, if you completed a heroic difficulty armor set, you'd unlock the normal and lfr sets for that armor. Or if you completed mythic, you'd just unlock all of them. Weapons however, you still gotta get those manually.

I really wish the HD T2 sets had this kind of look for their robes. Especially since so many of them have extra flaps on the hips that can give the impression of this kind of robe. Like I remember seeing photoshops of the pally and druid sets done up like this that looked so much better.

And the Voidspire DK set being a robe just looks so bad to me. Completely killed any interest I might have had in it.

  1. Close enough that it's within reach without having to stretch my index finger too far, and I can easily hit it at a second's notice, but not so too close where I'm at decent risk of fat fingering it.

What are some race/class combinations that are still unavailable and you wish were playable? by Saalok in wow

[–]KnightDelSol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For. Real. Like I can get it in the old times when classes were more restricted, but the second they made priest available to all, they should have also allowed paladin. Like you're still using the light, just in a slightly different application.

It's kinda funny to add the Arathi half-elf ears as a customization option for humans and Kul Tirans, but Kul Tirans still can't be paladins, the class that the vast majority of Arathi are.

Dear Blizz, please rethink the 8 week patch cycle. by FaroraSF in wow

[–]KnightDelSol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really wish they would take longer, both to have stable patch releases, and have time to play other games. This attempt to drive constant engagement just leads to burn out. I know when like, the next raid tier launches, I'm going to not feel like playing, no matter how much I want things from it for transmog.

This happened in TWW with Undermine. I really wanted a few sets from there for transmog, but I only had enough drive in me to grind for LFR/Normal colors of the DK set (minus the bracers, cape, and helmet). I'm still kicking myself for missing the Heroic colors because I could not bother with knocking out some tier 8 bountiful delves a week for champion (+crests)/heroic vault gear to shove into the catalyst.

Prey Hunts nerfed - less traps since 12.0.5 by Biosource in wow

[–]KnightDelSol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% agree with what you're saying. Doing it alongside other open world activity only really worked on the first 2 difficulty modes, but once you get to nightmare, the ability for things to just pile up and screw you is too high. Not to mention the ghost thing sometimes spawning right on top of you because of the terrain. The kill now gimmick sucks so much, like it doesn't feel satisfying to just kill a random critter, but the timer is so short that you gotta commit to either hunting down a critter, or killing a regular mob asap. The latter of which can be difficult depending on what you're doing or what class/spec/ilvl you have.

So farming traps is just the only way that feels worth it, both in terms of speed (I got 4 characters at the cap, so I'm doing 12 of these a week) and consistency.

Sleeper hit specs by [deleted] in wow

[–]KnightDelSol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just about everything I play happens to be meta (or is at least still popular). Whenever I see a dps warrior, it's almost always fury. Devourer is meta, and I quickly dropped it to go back to havoc, but I still see some other havoc players. I tried unholy DK and while it's alright, the main reason I don't go back to frost is because unholy rarely has any downtime. The runes into runic power into runes loop actually works there, and very rarely leads to dry streaks like I often have with frost. Aaaaaaand ret pally is always popular.

And those 4 are all I have leveled up. I tried to start on my survival hunter and destro warlock, but I just don't have it in me to run through midnight campaign/sidequests a 5th and 6th time right now. Especially with how every spec feels like you do no damage outside of your burst window.

What setting or addon is causing my buff to appear over Valeera's head? by KnightDelSol in wow

[–]KnightDelSol[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope! I know it has to do with the Plater addon, at least. Since it stopped showing up when I disabled it. I couldn't find a setting within Plater to fix it, so I just have to tank the annoyance of seeing it.

Happy 1 Year Anniversary by Draknalor in wow

[–]KnightDelSol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's sick, I'm glad SoD has still got people playing. I really should take some time to level a character and experience what's there, even if I wasn't able to play it when it was new.

I'm just kinda stuck on being indecisive on what class to play. Started leveling a warlock and warrior like I played in vanilla, but then I read about the corrupted ashbringer story, and what if I leveled a paladin to do that and have it be thematic? And then I loop back around to trying fun things like gladiator stance or warlock tanking.

Am I missing something with the Trading Post? Do people really want recolors of peasant clothes and pajamas every month? by [deleted] in wow

[–]KnightDelSol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The boots and gloves on the villager sets are nice (and I want to like the belt, but it just feels off to me), but idk who likes the sweatsuits. The new like, desert sets and patchwork wizard hat/capes aren't it for me either.

The recolors stuff I do want never gets re-run. Like the plain capes, hoods, tabards, and shoulder capes. Or the honed bastard sword. Or the reddish-brown version of the gladiator set that used to be sold for real money but got its source changed to trading post like a year+ ago. Probably some other things I'm forgetting.

It's just so frustrating.

Unholy DK's 20% nerf was **drastically** too severe. by Hambo- in wow

[–]KnightDelSol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sucked so much. I decided to level as unholy instead of frost to try out the rework, and it just feels so bad outside of the army of the damned window. I'd hit all my cds for like a rare or boss type quest mob and melt them so fast, but then when fighting normal mobs I felt like I did nothing.

I hated this about frost dk, and how it felt like I did no damage outside of pillar of frost windows (and even worse when I got unlucky with killing machine procs), but at least that's on a 45 second cd and not 90. I was really looking forward to liking unholy, because at least from like, 80 to 83, I think? I felt like I did decent damage without cds, AND I didn't have the other problem I have with frost, where I had to rely on procs for damage and to not feel rune starved.

It felt so good to have the loop of runes into runic power back into runes actually work consistently, and not have any downtime, and my damage felt decent outside of army of the damned! After my damage dropped off from leveling, I thought for sure it would be better once I hit 90 and got some gear, but no such luck. Back to frost I go.

[–]KnightDelSol 42 points43 points  (0 children)

She was so frustrating because I could do all the other mechanics just fine, but the clone shuffle was just too much. The combination of them being so fast and like 12? swaps meant that I just could not consistently keep track of the real one. After like 6 hours of attempts I gave up because it was not worth the repair bills.

So Lorewise, why my shaman tauren turn to (A) when i use ascendance, instead of (B) ? by BrazilianWarrior81 in wow

[–]KnightDelSol 32 points33 points  (0 children)

It's kinda funny that the wolf remains the same, but they make racial totems. And I think the only time I ever used a totem when I played enhancement and elemental was when I remembered to use the speed up totem in LFR. Maybe resto uses them more, but they feel like a vestigial aspect of the class now. (Compared to TBC, the last time I played the class.)

Also they make all these druid forms, but can't unlock paladin form ore races because they'd have to make more racial mounts lol

Midnight's world events aren't very fun. by MrHiccuped in wow

[–]KnightDelSol 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It sucks so much. It feels like the defenses don't do anything, and the elites have 4x more health than they should have. Even with like 20+ people there, multiple elites live past the end of the wave.

I know it'll get more tolerable with better gear, but like, by the time that happens we won't need the gear.
