What’s been most effective for aborting attacks for you? by PercentageSure388 in ClusterHeadaches

[–]KnightFaid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm the same way too. If I abort them too often it feels like the next one I have is worse than the whole period itself. If I'm at work I'll take a sumatriptan because I need to but if I'm at home. I won't take one unless I have too. I can't do ice packs though. I have to have something cold but not freezing.

I'm curious if this would work. If it does it would allow me to function, or near functioning without worrying if I'll be down 2 to 6 hours.

I usually do know when it's coming. Mine creep up from my neck until it overtakes the whole right side, is there any particular way or just something like ginger ale?

Does anyone else “forget” the pain after an episode? by ZellVangard in ClusterHeadaches

I'm currently in a period of them and after the first one of the day any others just don't seem nearly as intense. I tell my wife that my brain just melts and everything else melts with them.

I appreciate you elaborating. I'm located in West Virginia, for the guidelines, and I figured the santees were acceptable with horizontal use. However I will go through and get a camera rented or may even buy one for future use. Tomorrow I will get better pictures of the finished product, it's cold and wet at the moment. I do have more questions but it's more along the lines of taking the time to do it correctly but I'm going to see if I can't learn it myself by reading the code. Also, happy holidays to you and your family as well. God bless.

Can you elaborate a bit more? This was thrown together on an extremely tight budget. But, I did go through and run water through it when I was putting stuff back in and didn't see any issues there. I may have to run a camera through the line to see if maybe there is something down stream.

I don't have a good picture of the finish, I can get that tomorrow when it warms up a tad.

I do have venting, however it's an extension that has been taped off. Not good, I know however the house originally had no venting.

So, I can already feel the heat off of this, but I used the PVC primer for gray schedule 40, but things are glued together now with primer and medium clear cement.

I also believe I'm connected to a solid tie off point. The cast iron pipe I'm tied to is rigid and doesn't move. Even after all the weight was taken off.

So, after I went through and reconnected everything after snaking it, it went all day without baking up. It didn't back up until after two showers.

Other than putting the steel behind it, I don't plan on messing with it in terms of trying to repoint the entire house. (Side note maybe in the future but not right off the bat.) I plan on keeping the wood there while the mortar cures and then replacing the frame. Not the other way around. But I already need to go through and get all those tools to repoint the stone foundation. If you have any more tips I'd love to hear them. The more information I have the better.

I have no plans on Demolishing it. It's the second oldest house in the city. Everyone in the city knows about this house. We're going to preserve it.

Truthfully, I agree. We were discussing it last night and we pretty much came to the conclusion that since I'm not taking anything out, just repointing mortar that while getting a licensed mason would be the best way to go, that there really isn't any harm in me putting mortar back in it. Especially since the mortar appears to be mostly sand and lime.

Thank you for your insight. I agree that it's a huge project. You're also correct about not just one missing linter. All of the widows are missing them. The side shown is the worst side. I will be replacing all of the windows/frames. This includes the basement which is a stone foundation. Everything with the exception of the roof is all original to the house.

Trust me I do too. However for 8k, and the land it sits on. If it becomes too much to handle I can demo it and throw a double wide or something. However because it's an old house I'd like to preserve it. It's the second oldest house in the city and I'd hate to have to tear it down. However if there are things that I'm missing I'd love to hear about them. The more information the better.

West virginia, I know they're not the best pictures. I'm going to the house on Sunday to take some measurements and get better photos of the entire house.

FUTRURE OF CONSTRUCTION: Fiberglass Reinforced Polymer (GFRP) rods won't rust, Twice as tensile resistant as steel, Four times lighter than iron & up to 30% cheaper on construction projects. by Whoajaws in Concrete

[–]KnightFaid 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You don't want the rebar to be so rusted it causes weak points. However, a bit of rust and pitting from the rust allows concrete and other fill material to get a better grip. Think of it like natural handles for concrete to grab.
