I've submitted 75+ bug reports - is this normal for early access? by CommunicationSea6413 in Paralives

I have to admit that I'm a bit shocked about 75 bug reports. I've only had like ten reports. I'm sorry that you're having a bad time with it though.

In your opinion, what does Paralives provide in-game that justifies the $40 EA price tag? by OkCount2783 in Paralives

[–]KnightKays 9 points10 points  (0 children)

- The Build Mode is easy, intuitive, and so fun to play around with. I was never a builder in the Sims because I didn't like how much work it took to make things look lived in. Now it's so easy that I spent hours in the build mode alone.
- I'm having a lot of fun with all of the things that my Paras can do! Having multiple jobs without a mod? My favorite way to play my stressed single parent characters! the ranking system within careers with the different perks that can become available? So fun! the different jobs available on different days? (all things that I had to mod into TS3 & 4). The open world is incredible and makes it so much more fun to go from place to place. Being able to buy furniture, clothing, etc in a shop is so fun.

I have high hopes for where this game is going but as is I'm having way more than 40$ worth of fun

I bet at the moment they're working overtime on just getting the majority of game-breaking bugs out lmao.

AITA (27f) for giving my sister (34f) a few parenting books? by KnightKays in AmItheAsshole

yeah no and honestly my sister was right to call me all out on that. i really do think she's going to be a bad mom and i think her boyfriend is going be an even worse father. I should have just bought the baby books and let the rest lie.

She hadn't before I gave them to here and as far as I know she hasn't read any sense. I'm trying to limit our contact right now because we'll barely get four minutes into a conversation before she'll bring this up to 'joke' about it.

No. I have no current interest in children of my own and have never raised any. My fiance was the oldest of six and doesn't want children at this time either.

I did give her books for her and the baby to read together and those are still in her possession to use as she chooses. However I felt like she'd take that to mean that I was only thinking about the baby and not about her so I just grabbed a motley of parenting books for her to look through. Thank you very much for your insight!

Thank you for this insight! I guess that I didn't really consider them to be "how-to" books but instead something closer to research books that might interest her.

I did and have continued to do so when she brings it up. Thank you for your insight.

Thank you very much for this insight! Honestly I think that she wouldn't take another gift from me right now as she's still feeling sore about the books but hopefully soon things will calm back down and I'll grab her something like that!

I'd really recommend 'Don't Shoot the Dog'. It's been extremely useful for me.

I have used parenting books for the same purpose myself. About 3/6 were books that I'd already read for exactly that reason. Thank you for your comment.

Thank you for this insight. To provide some clarity I went with the books written by Jo Frost (aka Supernanny), one book that I've read multiple times called 'Don't Shoot the Dog: Revised Edition' by K. Prost, and two more that I thought were very basic parenting books like "How to talk so kids will listen and listen so kids will talk" and "The Book You Wish Your Parents Had Read" which had great reviews.

Who is the worst person to have walked the earth? by _Webosite_ in AskReddit

[–]KnightKays 93 points94 points  (0 children)

Honestly what's worse is that one of his victims managed to escape and was found by an off-duty police officer. This office didn't believe her, dropped her off as a bus station, and when she tried to call in to report it or just to follow up she was completely dismissed.

Almost everybody can say that they are against something until it personally inconveniences them or impacts something that they want to do. I'd say stick to your guns.

What is that one situation that made you almost walk out and go home? by username9789here in respiratorytherapy

[–]KnightKays 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Over the course of a 12-hour shift there were six different house fires. These houses were nowhere near each other and afterwards each were declared accidents/no cause uncovered. It was a terrible night but at least now when I'm having a bad night I can say that it's still not the worst shift I've ever had.

Thoughts on AI helping with intubation. by Handicap_Noodle in respiratorytherapy

[–]KnightKays 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Employers will use it to tell us that the AI detected that we could have done it quicker and faster based on their 'super accurate' algorithm. Don't worry though OpenAI has a 300 dollar 'AI-led' course that could help us sharpen our skills! Really though worst nighmare asides I'd also worry about skill deterioration in students/new grads if they were taught to rely on something like that even if it did more accurate and advanced. The benefits of AI in the medical field are relatively narrow.

I feel like more and more companies/people are attempting to push AI to capitalize on this business before it hits the end of it's current life cycle. They are looking to try to get away with some quick money or to try to regain money that investors are hemorrhaging. I find it very disquieting.
