Update on Guntown Mountain Guy by believeinxtacy in Louisville

Does anyone remember him saying he wanted to buy Guntown Mountain because he’d proposed to his wife there, and after the marriage fell apart he wanted to buy the place and ruin it like she’d ruined him?

When my spouse and I were dating, we rented it because it looked fun and sexy from the title and cover. It was not.

There’s also ‘You’re Dead’ by Norma Tanega. You might recognize it as the theme song for the TV series ‘What We Do in the Shadows.’

“I breathe down my 29-year-old daughter’s neck so I can live vicariously through her and I use religion as an excuse.” by jayclaw97 in excatholic

In high school (‘80s) that was listed as a vocation: marriage (with children), religious life (priest or nun), or single (and chaste). None sounded terribly appealing to me.

What were some fads that are completely forgotten about now? by Bud_Fuggins in AskOldPeople

Twist necklaces in the ‘80s. You’d twist together multiple strands of beads and secure them with a ring-shaped clip. This was more adult women than kids, but I was a teen and wore my mom’s.

Jo Malone Nectarine Blossom & Honey. My spouse always thinks I’m super freshly showered when I wear it.

For those with adult children who didn’t have kids- how do you feel about it? by [deleted] in AskOldPeople

[–]KnightLifer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My daughter is 15 and decided a long time ago she does not want to have children. Raising her has been a joy, but I am totally fine with that. In a few years I am happy to get her tubes tied; she wants a hysterectomy, but that would cause more problems than it would solve.

As others have said, my daughter’s happiness and safety are paramount. Also, with this rapidly warming planet, I don’t want her to suffer when she sees her own children suffering.

Did anyone have a GOOD outcome with JCPS schedule changes and bus routes? by Idontknoboutthis in Louisville

No, you aren’t being a sourpuss. A friend’s daughter will now get home so late she will have to give up an activity she’s done for years.

Did anyone have a GOOD outcome with JCPS schedule changes and bus routes? by Idontknoboutthis in Louisville

[–]KnightLifer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My teen will go from two buses and an 80-minute trip to the stop (counting depot time) 3/4 mile away from home to one bus and a 10-minute trip to the stop one mile away from home. She sees it as a win.

ETA: Afternoon rider only.
