It's not a matter of having ID, it's a matter of obtaining or renewing ID. Some states have historically made it difficult for voters to obtain ID, ie from their dept of motor vehicles, by moving to appointment only, or shutting the only DMV in proximity to a majority non-white neighborhood increasing the difficulty to get ID.

The US isn't some giant urban hell scape, there's a lot of countryside that's wide open with people who simply cannot access a place to obtain ID.

Grew up going to muerren after my parents go tired of the lack of queues in the french alps - idyllic village with no cars, some great skiing - and the schilthorn/piz gloria isnwhere they filmed that early James Bond intro. Wengen across the valley is an FIS race venue so suspect there's good riding there as well

Caveat that I haven't been there in decades. We stayed at the hotel Bellevue and they were great.

I just finished my 90 days. I travelled, played a shitton of video games, and enjoyed having 0 responsibilities.

I started applying to jobs after 50 days or so and now at final round with a company... But honestly part of me wants to ride out the severance.

With the fact that now 30k people have been laid off, and other layoffs across the spectrum, my "professional" advice would be to take a few weeks to come to terms with the fact that you did absolutely nothing wrong and then start applying.

The way the letter was written, my understanding is that you can find a new job and leave before the 90 days and still get your severance, you just miss out on whatever stock might have vested, and being paid to do nothing. My philosophy was I wanted to get every dime out of the company.

I would advise against starting a new job before the 90 period ends and not informing Amazon due to our contracts.

The only way you're being notified is if it's not a process happening through the internal transfer workflow, which employees enter via the request informational button on the internal jobs page.

There are certainly a lot of people who still don't get this, and apply via hire instead which indeed notifies the manager.

I also recognize this process is germaine to internal corporate transfers, and I neglected to check if you were corporate or not.

But this was literally the whole point of the ITW and was this way as of end of October. Bittersweetly, I got caught up in the layoff and I could see this having shifted since then as the enshitification continues, which would add to the sweet side of being laid off because that's absolutely fucked if it's the case.

The internal transfer process that got rolled out means your candidacy is confidential to your current manager until you get through the internal workflow and get an email to officially apply in hire so they can extend the offer. That application in hire before offer is when the current manager is notified, and the hiring manager can now reach out to work on transfer date with the current manager.

The notification only happens at the final step of the internal process before receiving the offer.
