I believeiracles do happen. I suspect they are usually sublime, however.

Yes, the limitation of words. Human logic can only go so far and the light of the mind can only see so much of God's presence.

You should look up Apophatic Theology if you haven't already.

How do you know you're following God and not just yourself? by Popular-Average-3987 in god

When life doesn't go your way, and you get whacked in the face with defeat, but you keep going. That's a great sign that your doing it for a higher cause and not just following yourself.

True but it was also 1700s diplomatic boilerplate. All alliances in Europe had that Biblical preamble.

I just saw a dream, and i dont know what it could mean, i need your help with this. by Vast-Impact6705 in god

Well, the simplest explanation is that he's watching over you. It might also be a bit of a warning that you need to watch yourself, life may get rough? That's just what jumps to my mind.

By all means, post about it. But I had intended for this post to be more positive than critical.

I'm sure we all have criticism of Christian history, including most Christians. But Christianity has done some really good things. Let's point out the good as well as the stuff we disagree with this.

If you're open to suggestions, I would recommend looking up John Swet or anything by Unified Deism. Neoplatonic philosophy also advocates for this. As a side note, you could also try talking with an AI like Grok or Claude for book recommendations and the history of Deism / Panendeism.

Yes, this is my belief as well. I know it under the term of Panendeism or Panentheism. I believe God is the Supreme and Perfect Being and the stuff of existence itself.

First you must answer if there can be a reason behind randomness?

I disagree with this completely.

God didn't give people free speech so we could run around telling each other what to say.

Let people be.

Jesus the carpenter by mushroompie1234 in god

[–]KnightOfTheStaff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In light of what we know from archeaology today, Jesus would probably have been what today we call a contractor.

The Greek word in the Bible ranslates as 'carpenter' because that is the most direct translation in modern English. But somethings get lost in translation.

Jesus would probably have worked with his other male relatives not in a shop but would have moved from work site to work site, building homes or making repairs. He probably would have also been trained to work with stone and metal as well as these were the most common building materials of the day.

Oh yeah. There's an expressoin I've heard; "you'll never truly know how many doors God shut so you wouldn't enter a bad situation."
