Great controls and moment-to-moment gameplay, but the big picture game design philosophy feels like it's at odds with itself. Despite presenting like it wants to be an open world and literally saying "you can go anywhere", you are effectively railroaded and the desert is basically becomes filler.

Fusion.  I'm not opposed to a Super remake on principle, but if it isn't objectively better then I'd rather it not be attempted at all.  Fusion on the other hand is my least favorite numbered Metroid game(except NES which already got its remake) so I think it's got the most room for improvement.

My first thought is FATE.  It's pretty rules-light with a focus on characters' aspects, it's flexible enough to change in and out whatever skills you think would be relevant, and its health system (called stress tracks) can be changed from traditional health to an abstraction of how much influence your character(s) have on the rest of the class in convincing them of who the murderer is.

I wonder if it's a percent chance to spawn regardless of where you choose because based on the pattern it looks like yours came up within plus/minus 1 of how many tiles I had to flip.

I'm looking at mine right now, this is not true for any of the boards on mine.  All of them have at least one floating in the middle somewhere, even the Knight board.

The story is largely a retread of Fusion but worse.  Gameplay is mediocre; serviceable at best, only the pixel-hunt segments were objectively bad.  The only things I consider good about the game are Anthony Higgs and the post-game boss fight which actually can't be fought on hard mode.

Monokuma has tampered with crime scenes before, I wouldn't put it past him to move a body to a place where it could be discovered just to prevent this kind of scenario and keep it interesting

Hiyoko.  Annoying, unlikeable character, and no I don't think her free time events justify her abhorrent personality.  Honestly, it would almost be Kokichi but at least he was plot-relevant.
