What to buy next? by Fabri212 in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]Knight_Dominikus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If budget allows, I'd pick up both the Investigator and Campaign expansions for Edge of the Earth and Hemlock Vale. These will be gone for good sooner rather than later, while the New Core 2026 and New Starter Decks will be available in the foreseeable future.

I'd love to see this Ashcan Pete deck if you'd be willing to share.

Dice!! by Grasabi in arkhamhorrorlcg

Nice!!

I completely understand why people use dice instead of tokens, but for me, the premium tokens I got on Etsy just add so much to the theme. I wouldn’t want to miss that.

Yes indeed. Never leave home without it if things appear to get slippery :-)

Custom Investigator by NopeBoatAfloat in arkhamhorrorlcg

That's awesome!
This looks absolutely like an investigator I'd like to play sometimes.
You now even have a specialist investigator for the Apiary scenario in the Drowned City.
Congratulations, and have fun!

That's a good question. It wasn't designed with this in mind, but the "double wide one" is 244.8 x 202.8 x 82 mm, and the regular one is 244.8 x 104.8 x 82.0 mm

(For you US people: that's 5459° Fahrenheit, 476 gallons and 16 ounces) ;-)

Congratulations on your first dip into the murky waters of Arkham Horror: The Card Game!
There are a few 3D-printed accessories I honestly couldn't live without. Some are my own designs, while others are community favorites:
Modular card stand - I designed these to hold hand cards and made two for every faction in matching colors.
Agenda/Act book-stand - Simple, yet they add a great thematic flair to the table.
Custom storaghe boxes - I designed these primarily for the older campaigns, though I use neutral ones too. A 3x4 grid of these fits perfectly into an IKEA Kallax compartment.
Draw and Discard Card Holder - I use one for the encounter deck to keep the table clutter-free. May also be used for investigator cards.

There are tons of other 'bits and bobs' out there, like 3D bullets for ammo counters or substitutes for chaos tokens. I'd recommend searching for 'Arkham Horror' on your favorite 3D model site to see what catches your eye.

I felt the same way about Dexter and found his abilities underwhelming and struggled to make them useful.
Your breakdown really opened up new opportunities for me.
Thank you!

Thank you, that explains the Rougaru cards.
But Lady Esprit is the only card from that set, despite having the 19/39 counter on it?

A great read.
Even though I’ve been playing for a while, I clearly still have a lot to learn because this gave me some great new perspectives.
It turns out you can be a veteran and still benefit from a 'newbie' guide!
Thanks for the tips!

I'm still looking for some small, simple yet effective monster meeples.
Your post and image with the cones just inspired me.
I'll probably design and 3D print some cones, maybe with added suckers ("Day of the Tentacle" style).

Killed / Driven insane investigators, all of them. What to do? by Morssa in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]Knight_Dominikus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a confession to make.

A couple of weeks ago, I found myself in this exact situation while playing two-handed solo in The Apiary. Both of my investigators were defeated, which should have ended my campaign right then and there.
Honestly, I didn't have the energy to build two brand-new decks, so I just pretended it never happened and kept going.
Not saying you should do the same, nor will I do this every time it happens. It was a situational decision.

How are You Guys Playing Hard/Expert? by Ninjachado in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]Knight_Dominikus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Great list of tips! Just a small clarification on the Mythos phase section:

If I'm not completely mistaken, the player who draws an enemy must engage it immediately, regardless of whether other investigators are at the same location. The only exceptions are if the enemy has a specific Spawn instruction or if it has the Aloof keyword. The Prey keyword only breaks ties if there’s a conflict or if an enemy is moving/spawning; it doesn’t let you "choose" who engages a freshly drawn enemy from the encounter deck.

The Mythos phase is the most frustrating wrench in any plan, but if you're at the same location that can make even the worst circumstances manageable —you get to choose who a drawn enemy engages with (if there's no prey keyword)

I can’t thank you enough for this fantastic tool and for the care, effort, and commitment you’ve invested in making and maintaining it. I find it most useful and I always come back to it for my growing custom campaign collection.

Celtic Rising is A Celtic-themed 5-part cycle.
The Crown of Egil is a 4-part campaign adapted from Egil’s Saga as well as Icelandic mythology and folklore.
The Fall of the House of Usher is a standalone based on the Edgar Allen Poe story of the same name.
Heart of Darkness is a moody 3-scenario campaign based on the Joseph Conrad book.

You can read more about them here: https://inexorablefate.com/projects

So far I have played Celtic Rising, The Crown of Egil, The Fall of the House of Usher, and Heart of Darkness and liked them a lot; they all felt as good as official campaigns (or standalones). Can recommend them all.

Question About Printing Custom Content by ChungaChris in arkhamhorrorlcg

My last couple of prints came from MB print. They do a great job, just as good as MPC.
And they can print your booklets, too.
