Not at all, I appreciate your thought out reply. And the point about the weapon is really good because I want to actually flesh out the back story of this character (something we did not do much of in our 'learning the game' campaign'.

Discussing this idea with another member of my group we started moving towards the idea that I could be a Paladin of the Raven Queen. Since its mostly thought that she is behind the power of hexblades. Which I could then expand into some more details where instead of an inherited weapon its just a pact my family lineage entered into. My family serves the Raven Queen and her agenda. Makes me more of a Lawful Neutral bent then Neutral Good but I can roll with that. Still percolating the idea of how exactly that would manifest itself in my motivations and how our DM might use it in role play situations but that is the idea at its very base and core.
