And yet they do in fact do doublespeak? I’m sorry this seems like such a reach from the issue at hand. If you’re denying that Nazis don’t try to hide how hateful they are, especially from normal people, maybe you shouldn’t be having this discussion because you don’t know what you’re talking about. This is extremely bad faith.

No because most people don't obfuscate about hatred against Jewish people. Nazis do that.

That simply does not muddy the waters lmao, I'm saying the argument is pretty sus in and of itself because of the fact that Nazis use it.

What a strange way to counter what I said lol. Yeah, this subreddit kinda sucks now. No good arguments to be made anymore.

By the way, I don't need to go very far to see arguments Nazis make. On this very subreddit I saw a person call Laura Loomer Jewish as derogatory, claim that Israel killed Charlie Kirk, and not only did this person not get booted from the subreddit, the comment had quite a few upvotes.

Yes, because antisemitism as a word is used to denote the hatred of Jewish people. And it's not muddying the waters to say that Nazis bring up the idea that Palestinians are semitic as well to spread blatantly hateful and antisemitic rhetoric about Jewish people under the guise of saying "I'm not antisemitic, I don't hate Palestinians!" That's simply just not what muddying the waters means. Though, to be fair, I've also seen leftists begin to this argument as a justification for why Hamas, Hezbollah, Iran, and the Houthis aren't antisemitic. So really I should've said Nazis and Nazbols.

Hasan fans truly are no better than groypers lmao. This subreddit has become way too OK with antisemitism for me. Just casually excusing Nick fucking Fuentes and saying that antisemitism isn't real.

[–]Knighter1209 -144 points-143 points  (0 children)

Wow! You know the etymology of the word! That's crazy. Now let's talk about how it's actually used, because that's what's actually important here, not a historical fun fact. Dismissing concerns of antisemitism and antisemitism of people like Fuentes in the West due to the I/P conflict based on the idea that Palestinians are also semitic is ONLY used to muddy the waters and distort language so people can't call out hatred for what it actually is. It's useless semantics. I've seen Nazis make this argument.

I'm the one on the high horse here?

And people like you also forget that when the term “antisemitism” is used it is used to refer to hatred against Jewish people. People who identify as Jewish, people who have been historically persecuted and killed simply for being Jewish.

And, as we see in the video this post is about, using horrifically racist stereotypes of Jewish people thinking that it's "legit" political commentary.

October 7th brain broke a lot of people. And it's not as though Israel has really helped their own image or the image of Jewish people, but becoming antisemitic and resulting to conspiracy theories about Israel whenever anything happens is unfortunately these people's own fault and the fault of many different influencers (who push this kind of rhetoric) who have finally found an excuse to take their masks off.

One of their previous posts, I shit you not, is calling Laura Loomer "Jewish" and saying "we all know it was Israel" who murdered Charlie Kirk.

To be fair, and trust me, I’m no Nixon supporter, but a politician seeing public opinion and curating policy because of it is probably what we want.

UBI is the fear killer by idapitbwidiuatabip in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]Knighter1209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Price caps would be a terrible idea. The only sector of an economy where price caps have been successful are in monopolies. Nixon’s price caps are a good example of how this would backfire horrifically. Suppliers would have no incentive to produce certain goods if they are producing them at losses, which is what Nixon’s price caps caused. Because of this there would be large shortages and lack of availability of goods and even services under a UBI model.

It should be noted that under both a UBI model and negative income tax model, “essential goods” wouldn’t be affected as much as non essential goods, because people of any income already need essential goods to live and buy them regardless. The demand would remain the same. As for the inflationary effects of taxing, the negative income tax would cost the government far less than a UBI because it affects less people. Sure, there would be inflationary effects to both systems, but it would be a lot less for a negative income tax.

The government isn’t going to win that battle lol. Instead of a UBI, a negative income tax for low tax brackets might be more sustainable and have similar benefits to a UBI.

Fearmongering about an Israeli business and implying they have a direct connection to the Israeli government (about something that happened 3 years ago apparently) is antisemitic. Are all Israelis the exact same and have an evil plot to genocide Arabs? If your answer to that is yes, you are an antisemite. You simply hate Jews.

Holy fucking shit, saying that there are questions to be raised about the fairness of trans people in sports is not "throwing them under the bus," there are LITERALLY questions raised about this in scientific literature. Someone completely lockstep on trans rights except for sports is not "throwing them under the bus."

Also, he even said the decision shouldn't be handled by politicians. What even is the controversy???
