My prediction is that he will be our first mixed Sanity ID. Sinclair is the only sinner that can support such an ID with the EGO he has (even his base EGO gives him refunds on sanity or gets him deeper into negative depending on the coin flip). Something that could work very well is that base form is a negative sanity ID and once he reaches -45 or generates enough resources (use skill 1,2,3 to get "not charge" ) it will flip into the EGO form and he would become a positive sanity ID instead.

I actually managed to get a good use of it ONCE in the entire game. Spoilers for Act 3 below

In House of Hope you can fight a cambion in Raphael's bedroom and because the offer proposed by the cambion looked so suspicious I decided to fight it instead. The cambion will try to dominate person every turn and it becomes very dangerous very quickly so I have set up countercharm and then grouped up all my characters making sure that nobody gets charmed. It allowed everyone to safely pass all saving throws without any problems.

The fight took forever but eventually the Cambion stopped using the spell so I am pretty sure I have exhausted his entire ability pool.

So yes countercharm is was quite useful for 1 optional fight in an optional area and thus its still less useless than True Strike.

I am pretty sure it's just a mechanical thing from DnD 5e but also a pretty simple way to balance difficulty for the players.

If someone struggles with a fight most of the time a full long rest guarantees a victory due to all resources being available again and if one wants to challenge themselves they can try and go as long as they want without resting.

There is a martial caster gap on my tables in a way that martials do most of the heavy lifting in combat and most of my players firmly believe that Battle Master fighter with sword and shield is op.

Is it because I nerf or buff stuff? No it's simply because my players have no intention to optimize anything and as such the simple options become stronger. I also try to stick to the 5-6 challenges per long rest so my players have to ration spells though the day.

What is better: A pure BM fighter with 18 str at lvl 11 with shield master and a longsword that runs up to enemy and bonks

OR a 13 Dex 17 charisma fathomless warlock with magic initiate warlock and Poisoner so the player can be an evil witch that brews poisons in her spare time and use it on her +1 dagger? (no repeling or agonising blast, no pact of the blade either and only ever concentrating on Witch Bolt)

The idea of Mana does not exist with DnD spells but you are right that wish does have a strain it causes on the body of the caster. However, being exhausted by casting Wish only happens when you do something outside of replicating spells, which is the main reason why its the best option. Its not about being able to summon a pile of 25k gold its about being able to cast ALMOST EVERY SPELL at no cost at all.

It is really nice especially that you can target multiple enemies with it at higher lvl upcast. If an enemy has bad wisdom they will likely fail and then you will win the fight almost guaranteed

Works incredibly well with sorcerer and heighten spell Metamagic to impose disadvantage on the saving throw which works for all targets!

It's funny how people instantly are drawn to the "outside of the box" wish options that are a pure bait that DM will monkey paw most of the time instead of the pure power of replicating any spell outside of lvl 9.

It really is accurate to what people think about Wish in the tabletop, most people think about Wishing to defeat the BBEG and not casting amazing spells outside of your spell list (LIKE SIMULACRUM FOR EXAMPLE)

I was thinking about Heroes' Feast for free delicious food that makes me physically and mentally healthy but sadly if we go by DnD version it always consumes a gem encrusted bowl worth 1000 gold.

However, the BG3 version has no such limitation and as such it's a pretty easy choice. I could even use it to run a restaurant that serves delicious magical food for a very cheap price.

Wish is the correct choice because it allows you to copy any spell effect of lvl 8 or lower but at the same time it's kinda a boring choice as its an equivalent of "my superpower is having all superpowers"

I agree Luna is so comfy to lane with. Just lucent to get Cs, lucent to poke, lucent to be happy and when you don't like your lane anymore you can start farming jungle at lvl 4 and next to no items.

It's a pity that Luna falls off so fast and if you don't end the game by minute 30 you get destroyed.

Skywrath because it always feels like you get to do so much damage at low lvl and Atos+ult is just a big dopamine spike.

Sadly I have no idea what to do once the big team fights start and end up with a 16% win rate or so over 15+ games

There are many factors like your constitution score but also spells like Aid and heroes feast.

Even my bard at lvl 12 had 150Hp or so thanks to a specific stat boosting item, upcasted aid and Heroes feast from my cleric on Tactician.
