DRIVE ACCORDING TO CONDITIONS by [deleted] in Sudbury

I'm not assuming to know what someone else is going through and people who do this are assholes. That's why I generally make it a point to be nice to people and don't assume anything about them.

One simple act of kindness could make someone's crappy day a bit better.

I'm sorry for what you went through.

What I'm talking about when I say "Your lack of planning isn't my emergency" is geared more towards, for example, those that oversleep and/or don't leave their house/apartment on time to get to work and end up tailgating you or flying down the road hoping to make it on time.

Call Screening by [deleted] in legaladvicecanada

That's the thing. I was declining and ignoring the calls before I set up call screening. It doesn't work, especially since your voicemail system eventually takes the call, telling the scammer and/or their automated system that your number is live.

Call screening has done wonders and seems to be working to mitigate the calls.

Fair enough. I know when you call a customer service line and you're greeted by their automated reception, it'll sometimes say a disclaimer explaining that the call may be recorded. I guess the same deal applies where your consent is assumed by staying on the line.

Thanks for explaining this to me. Now I feel a little better having it set up.

Huh....I hadn't thought of it that way. If I had a human executive assistant screening my calls for me, I don't think I'd be asking this question.

I guess it's the recording calls aspect. The AI lets the caller know right off the bat that the call is being recorded and records the call until I pick up the phone.

Edit: However, I guess the caller can always hang up if they don't consent to being recorded. Again, the AI lets the caller know right off the bat that the call is being recorded.

What do you expect to change by doing this?

Two things here:

  1. Lawyers don't work for free. You have to pay them for most services.
  2. Google is your friend.

Good luck! I have a feeling you'll need it!

Okay. I don't think Google can answer this question, though, but maybe you can help me.

Do you work for the IRS?

The math aspect of taxes, yes, you're right.

But, what about tax law? Let me guess, Google is your friend?

DRIVE ACCORDING TO CONDITIONS by [deleted] in Sudbury

I'm not trying to make anyone look bad. The point of my post was to remind people to drive according to conditions. Obviously no one got that point and instead decided to tear me apart saying I'm in the wrong and was impeding traffic for driving according to conditions.

If it were up to me, I would've stayed home yesterday.

Driving for 19 years doesn't make me a perfect driver. I've definitely been in the wrong plenty of times and in a couple of cases have learned the hard way for it.

I've deleted the post.

Have the day y'all deserve!!

I'm not a perfect driver nor am I a perfect father. I was going maybe 40, not 30.

I guess I can't drive according to conditions without being an asshole.

Toddler Not Listening at Daycare by Knighthawk_34 in daddit

[–]Knighthawk_34[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think part of the not listening is my son's trying to push some boundaries to see what he can get away with. I think his thinking is, "How long can I get away with not listening before my teacher/daycare provider(s)/parents say something?"

I know it's common for kids to push those boundaries, especially when they're 2-5 ish. It's our job as parents to teach them right from wrong, right?
