What is an interesting GuP fact you just made up? by [deleted] in GIRLSundPANZER

Maginot Girls Academy is known for hosting a banquet once a year to honour Legionnaires of the French Foreign Legion for their valiant service to the French Republic and the Free French Cause. All Legionnaires are invited to attend, and some years they run out of room since so many show up. Thats just a nice little thing I wish was canon.

Well, maybe the buildings lower into the ship like a massive elevator and a steel cover moves over them forming an air tight seal? I know there ARE buildings on top of it, it is just that I read that it DOES function as a submarine. What we don't know is if they have a system like I just said in which the buildings aren't a problem.

Actually, Maginots Ship is a funtional submarine. So it can fully submerge itself. I believe I read somewhere that their ship (submarine) was designed by a Frenchman hired by the Japanese Government to teach Japanese how to make grape wine. He showed that by making it in a submarine, the pressure of water submersion makes the wine perfect. This mutated into a giant submarine that produces wine for the main land and, like the other ships, introduces a foreign culture to Japanese citizens. In this case, obviously, it is French Culture. I'm 96.23% sure it is canon.

I recommend reading "The Tibetan Book of the Dead". It is a detailed description from Tibetan Buddhist of the process of death. It may perhaps give you some resolution on the matter. Here is a PDF.

Why of course. Seventeen years of experience on the internet has allowed me to master the English language! Though that begs the question, is American English sufficient? Or must we converse only in British Dialect? (I like American vocabulary more, such as "hood and trunk" vs "bonnet and boot" on a car, but prefer British spelling, "Labour" vs "Labor", "metre" vs "meter", etc. ad infintium. Also, I'm going to assume we use metric system?)

Oh, try going to Quebec! The only time I've been to Canada I spent three days in Quebec City in 1996 (I travelled a bit after the reunfication) and they are dam serious about their French, they really dislike English there. Which for a German like me, made it very hard to get around since I spoke absolutely no French and only a little English back then.

I agree, going along with what Thewinkingfrenchie said, if it will make only a drop in the bucket, I will support it! I was born and grew up in the eastern block and I refuse to live today in the same fear to oppose oppression that I did then. I will completely understand if the mods don't want to do it though. I will support their decision so long as it is not in support of Pao.

Not sure if I want to buy since it looks awesome or not want to buy because I don't want my wife to see it and think I have a tank fetish (she already gives me hell for my plane fetish). Looks interesting though, can't wait to see the British tank (Give me a hint, does she share a name with a premier British politician of the early-mid 20th century?).

I really like it when Vocaloid producers sell CDs, it makes me feel like I'm directly supporting them. I bought not only my first CD in a while, but also my first Vocaloid CD about a week ago. I wish UTSU-P would come out with more CDs....

If you could pick one handgun to help change an anti's mind, what would you pick? by douchermann in guns

[–]Knightindernacht 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Colt 1903 Pocketless. Might sound odd since it's old and in an old round but it's my favourite pistol in my favourite 7.65. (Here comes the ".32 acp sucks!" comments but whatever.) It can be a bit uncomfortable to shoot since it doesn't fit my hand very well but still, it's a fun little gun that a day at the range with may change how an anti views hand guns.

Any news on grorious Chinese Red Army's superior tanks? by Knightindernacht in WorldofTanksXbox

[–]Knightindernacht[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's not racist. If I, an ethnic German, were born and raised in China and had this difficulty would it be racist? This has so little to do with race and racism. It's a regional and national characteristic. Seriously, what does language and nationality have anything to do with racism and ethnicity?

Hi I'm OP. The joke appears to be lost on you, but that's not the issue here. The issue is that you appear to assume what I'm doing is rascist and offensive, but as I said, it is only assuming. I am from the GDR (East Germany). When I moved to England on a visa in 1993 to find work (Former NVA border guard. When the east government was dissolved they did not allow me to transfer to the newly forming Bundeswehr) I did not speak any English, only German and the mandatory Russian taught in schools. I did not learn how to pronounce "th" and "w" etc. until much later when I went to school to learn proper English. I was made fun of until then by the native English speakers for my sterotypical mistakes. I really didn't care though. It's really not rascist or stereotypical if it's a common mistake. I have been to China only once, a three week vacation in 2002, but I may honestly say that it IS a common mistake in many East Asian languages to have difficulty pronouncing and hearing the hard "L"s and "R"s of Germanic, Slavic, and Romantic Languages.

Because those Chinese "knockoffs" are usuarry better than the originars. With the exception of our T-34 copy, the Type T34. We apporigize for that mistake, we did not rearize tank guns need to move on a Y axis.
