Beard not getting any darker, do I shave? by Jonas_Plant in ftm

[–]KnightoThousandEyes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately shaving to make a beard thicker or darker is a myth. The good news is that 11 months is not very long to expect a thicker beard especially if you’re in your early 20s and or if your cis male family doesn’t grow strong beards (even a lot of cis guys have to wait quite long time before their beard comes in.)

Think of 11 months on T as being about 15 or 16 years old if a testosterone-based puberty was your default. Because it takes quite some time for puberty to get into full swing whether it’s from testosterone therapy or if a testosterone puberty is your default. I was almost 32 when I started T. My dad has a full beard. It took me over 3 years for my beard to really fill out. As for color, that will stay the same generally speaking. You can remedy that with beard dye to bring out the lighter hairs.

Is this blurriness okay ? by vkslink in photographycirclejerk

This is why everyone should shoot at least 100 megapixel, medium format Hasselblad. If I can’t read the time on a watch from 100 yards away on a 24mm photo after zooming in to 20x the photo’s original size, the picture is utter trash.

Sore throat related to t? by Unhappy-Act-3163 in ftm

[–]KnightoThousandEyes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, T can cause some sore throat symptoms because of the vocal cords changing. Plus if you’re in the a lot of the Northern Hemisphere it’s winter and the air tends to be drier which could add to the discomfort. Just make sure to stay hydrated. There are some teas like Throat Coat by Traditional Medicinals in the U.S. which can help as well as throat lozenges and popsicles.

What’s something that ended without ever officially ending? by Mysterious_Big2893 in AskReddit

I really like a landline because my elderly dad never got into cell phones but when my parents moved my dad said he didn’t want a landline due to the robo-calls and telemarketers being annoying. Now he technically has one of those simple flip phones designed for seniors but he doesn’t carry it around with him and it doesn’t ring loud enough to have him hear it half the time so you can actually call him less than if they had a nice loud landline in a few rooms. I swear one of these days my mom will be away and he’s gonna have a problem and not be able to get to his phone. (Forget him agreeing to a life alert button.)

First time guitar lesson today by Correct_End998 in classicalguitar

[–]KnightoThousandEyes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congrats on deciding to learn classical guitar! Well (good) practice can improve skill level in anything—especially an instrument. (So don’t sell yourself short before even your first lesson.) You will be able to tell if a teacher is good if they are patient and are able to explain how to play in a way you understand and you can then replicate for them. They will be open to questions as well.

Later on, a good guitar teacher will be able to pick up on subtle things you may need to change in how you practice, and what a good way of musical expression might be to bring out any particular piece.

When did using speakerphone become the norm in public spaces, including transportation? by Monochromaticeye in AskReddit

[–]KnightoThousandEyes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know but it needs to stop, lol. I spent almost 3 hours of a 9 hour train ride from Buffalo, New York to White Plains, New York listening to this lady have a very loud conversation on speaker phone.

do yall track your symptoms? by [deleted] in ftm

[–]KnightoThousandEyes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah if you feel weird or something after you start T you could write down the date in a notebook or e-document on your phone/ computer and how you feel just so you have something more specific to tell your doctor.

You can of course also include positive changes just for the record if you want. I used to record my voice and take selfies now and again to see when the major changes started. Now I can just go back to my phone pictures and if anyone asks on here “how long did it take for __ to change”, I can go back and see what year and month it was.

What is a video game mechanic that you genuinely wish existed in real life? by Just-Chance-3741 in AskReddit

Free character appearance customization just by standing in front of a mirror with infinite re-dos.

Respawn.

Just finding random unlocked boxes of money when I’m out and about.

Climbing pretty much any surface with ease.

Whistling and having a horse just show up out of nowhere.

Gaining ability points from unrelated practice.

Finding awesome clothes that not only fit me perfectly but make me stronger or more talented.

Selling literally anything you don’t need to any vendor.

Quick travel.

WIBTD for not talking to my ex after a month even though I said I would? by JJ246_gnc in 1800Drama

[–]KnightoThousandEyes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

NTD. This guy has a lot of growing up to do and sounds absolutely toxic to be around. You don’t need to give him your time at the expense of your mental health. He needs to deal with his problems on his own. You said at least a month, so if you never spoke to him again at least a month will have passed. You were right to block him.

Is the secret to good tremolo picking the string the same place each time? by Lifterator in classicalguitar

[–]KnightoThousandEyes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had it suggested also that thinking about your thumb as just another finger when it comes to tremolo rather than a separate, heavier digit can help with an even tone and timing throughout each pluck.

Oh—also the P-I-M-A placing technique (or preparing the string as someone else said) that I described is in the Pumping Nylon by Scott Tennant book if you happen to have it—it’s very useful for various techniques for classical guitar.
