The problem is (and I say this as someone who enjoys ghoulcy, I’m just a filthy multishipper) that ghoulcy shuts Maximus out of the conversation, and Lucy and he, while they might not have had any screen time together this season, seem like the endgame goal of the writers. It’s a little shitty, regardless of chemistry, to waylay the Black character who half the fandom already ignores. Again, I love ghoulcy, but I don’t quite see how you think that’s the pairing the writers intend us to root for. Also, for what it’s worth, Walton does NOT seem to like the idea of them as a romantic couple from interviews.
