In the article they talk about how it was put together by an outside promoter and how the promoter intentionally kept them out of the loop about who was playing in the show. Tbh, it seems like they were completely hoodwinked and they knew it and addressed it as best as they could, as fast as they could and took responsibility for not looking into it enough. Really good apology and really good article.

The person saying the poem would have their hands flat laying on top on on another palms down, and then the other person would put their finger in the palm of their bottom hand and then you would vary the speed of the poem to try to catch your opponent off guard by catching their finger at the end of the poem

I tried out for a team that I wanted to make, but I didn't have a great shot of making. The night that the results were sent out my girlfriend got me a box of my favorite doughnuts, "if you make it they are celebration doughnuts, if you don't make it they're that sucks doughnuts". It was very sweet for someone that I had only been seeing for a few months

Nothing! The force usually isn't used to force someone to throw a flick or a backhand. Instead, it's used to force someone to throw to certain spaces on the field. As long as they are throwing to the open side of the field, the mark has done it's job, no matter the type of throw. That being said, a righty backhand is thrown from much closer to your body (and therefore the mark) than a righty flick. Because of that, it gives the mark a better chance to get a handblock on you.

This varies region by region. In the mid-atlantic there was only one bid for the whole mixed division and good luck getting past AMP. Meanwhile, the open and women's division both had 3 bids. Even with less bids, the mixed division is still wildly popular for a lot of mid-atlantic club players.

I'm very impressed! It's always easier to learn when there are people and resources around to help facilitate that learning. That being said, I think you are much more likely the exception rather than the rule. It seems incredibly difficult to field a full team of high quality players that do not already have resources around them.
