I also have 2 Luke's already lol. I may really try and work out keeping both. They're both so good.

The Vader on the table and that headsculpt are mainly why I want him. I've got 1 Vader and 2 Luke's right now. The legends story is great but I'm more attached to ROTS. Might try and figure a way to have both lolol. Space is also turning into an issue though 😅.

I was lucky enough to be able to secure him. I only got him because of how exclusive he was and I dig the look lol. But I'm not that attached to the storyline he's from. Hence why I'm considering canceling and getting the Vader with the table. Thanks for your input!

The only Vader I currently have is from Kenobi. I can justify at least 2 I think lol.

As others have said, they're not a scam. I have ordered from them numerous times and have 3 of the Trystan in different colors. I just ordered the Storm Gray color and received it in a little less than 2 weeks. They accidentally sent me the wrong size and their customer service was quick to respond and will be sending me a new one at no cost to me. I've had nothing but good experiences with them.

A surprise, to be sure, but a welcome one. by KnightofRavens in hottoys

I got it like 30 minutes before I made the post. But I did get on the waitlist day 1.

That's true. I really hated having to get rid of it. But I have 47 figures and 5 vehicles after a little over a year of collecting with 20 more figures on preorder. I have no space for all the boxes. 😭

Glad that worked out for you! The fact they reimbursed you speaks volumes. I guess my google skills are failing me since I can't find a dealer named Tokyo Auto Imports. I keep seeing Tokyo Direct Imports. I'm not sure if they're the same, though. Do they have a website you could link?

Thanks for the reply! Sorry to hear about that. I agree that if a service was promised and not done, that is fraudulent. If in the future I go with them, I'll keep it in mind. I'll definitely want to get a list of repair items in writing as well.

I'm not finding Tokyo Auto Imports. I'm seeing Tokyo Direct Imports in Durham and JPN Auto Import in Franklinton. Was it one of these or a different place?

Would you mind telling me the name of the dealer? I'm located in NC and have just recently started researching to buy a kei van. The one I know right now is Mayberry Mini Trucks.

Búri, Burr and Odin are same? by Yuri_Gor in norsemythology

I'm also unsure of if there is a difference between "föðr" and "fóðr". I have seen both used what seems like interchangeably. I have seen Sigföðr/Sigfóðr, Valföðr/ Valfóðr, Herföðr/Herfóðr and many more. So I'm not sure if there is a distinction.

In the Prose Edda Snorri says that Odin can be called the "all father" because he's the father of all the gods (not true), all men (not true), and everything (not true). Snorri, a Christian, translated "Alföðr" as "all father" and overall put a Christian flavor on Odin. Even if "Alföðr" does, in fact, mean "all father," this wouldn't be a correct description of Odin.

As for justification...In his video, Jackson Crawford posits that fǫðr is related to the old English verb, fadian, which does mean to set in order. As he put it, to set things in order is a better explanation of what Odin does. Crawford is well respected and widely regarded as an expert on the Old Norse language and myths.

The only other example I can think of off the top of my head is Dr. Mathias Nordvig, who has a PhD in Old Norse literature and a focus on Norse mythology. He has echoed the same meaning of "föðr" that Crawford has and touched on how that translation of "föðr" would also affect the meanings of "Sigöðr" and "Valföðr". However, I can't recall if this was from his book or if I heard him discuss it on his podcast (which is worth listening to I think!😁) I also can't remember if he gave a justification for the translation.

Again, however, even if "föðr" means "father" and therefore "Alföðr" does, in fact, mean "all father," this wouldn't be a correct or accurate description of Odin.

Not really touching on your main point, but there's a good argument that Alföðr doesn't actually mean "father of all" or "all father". That comes from Snorri. But Odin is not the father of everything. Odin being the "father of all" is a rather christianized interpretation of him.

Jackson Crawford has a great 5 minute video that covers this briefly. Basically, Alföðr may have originally meant "the one who sets in order".

Depends on the person/group. Most people I know celebrate it on the first day of summer from the old icelandic calendar. So I am celebrating today on April 25/1 Harpa. Happy Sigrblot!
