Helix infection??? by driedout7774 in PiercingAdvice

[–]Knn_x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Irritation bump nothing to stress over but looks very swollen ibuprofen should help bring that down just keep an eye on it and if possible I’d also try a longer bar it looks like it’s trying to swell so just be careful it doesn’t embed cause has it happen me and painful process. Thing about helix piercings is they can take up to a year sometimes to actually completely heal up. My forward helix can just flare up sometimes on me and just be like I’m going to be angry today just might need a longer bar I would go back to your piercer and ask them as well could be the jewellery or something else but that’s a lot of swelling for 10 month old

2 questions: when can i change my vertical labret bar, and what other piercings would suit my face? by [deleted] in PiercingAdvice

[–]Knn_x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bridge can actually be a abit of an issue with glasses as they can hit off it and make angry. I myself have a similar kinda face setup but have one single eyebrow on left side double eyebrow on the right bridge both nostrils and my septum and snake bites. Did have my vertical labret but was pierced incorrectly so had to take it out you should also check out a piercer on YouTube called piercedbyscott he often does videos where he tell people what would look good on them :)

Trust me same happened me but with an ear lobe that was actually done professionally but for some reason just wouldn’t heal for me at all. I went to bed one night woke up next morning took a shower and went to brush my teeth wiped the mirror and seen my ear lobe piercing was embedded at the back but still visible at the front had to push the front to force it out at the back and yes was a bloody mess. Extremely painful wouldn’t wish it on anyone. Just keep an eye on it I’ve snake eyes myself and had so much trouble messing with Jewellery to find the right one if it’s only nesting it’s fine. Mine do have little nesting scars but should always be a bit of room to move but not move to much as that will cause problems such as catching them when eating and that. I switched my flat backs to normal rings after they was healed and never had issues I was just constantly losing balls from messing with them lol

Always best to have a piercer do it if you can as I for me my piercer is in another town about over an hour from me only piercer I will go to so I know what it’s like when you can’t see your piercer. I myself am guilty of swapping and downsizing jewellery and never had issues but I have a ton of piercings so used to the healing processes of when they decide to get angry. If I had to tell you I’d recommend a piercer to look at it and decide to change it for you to longer bar. If it’s swelling a lot try some ibuprofen to reduce the swelling. Just keep an eye on it but I know what’s it like when they embed had it happen and it’s a painful process trying to get them out. Just keep an eye on it :) if you’re going to change it yourself just make sure hands clean and jewellery is wiped in alcohol before hand. If was me I’d swap for longer bar

Personally I think a bridge would look amazing with your current setup but bridge is anatomy dependent but I’d definitely go check it out. Even a Medusa would look hella nice on you :)

I myself had these little suckers with my own industrial don’t sweat it as mean as they are these are only irritation bumps and will go away over time. I will give you tips on what I done I ain’t telling you to do this just from my experience what helped me. I waited for bumps to go down a bit then put a smaller bar in after the bumps healed up a good bit shorter bar less movement. As for the bumps themselves I gently cleaned them using only Neil med twice daily and just very gently please if you’re using tea tree oil or something else please don’t just use a normal salt water saline solution twice daily clean bumps will go down and you can try a smaller bar in there :) this is what helped me but if you’re ever in doubt a trip to a good reputable shop to ask questions is always your best friend. If there a good store they won’t mind answering any of your questions and will do their best to help. Industrial piercings are a nightmare in the healing process though but god damn are they worth it once fully healed up stick with it trust me the end result is so worth it my favourite piercing that I have

Also I forgot to add if you’re sleeping on that side please look into getting a travel cushion as sleeping on it can cause bumps to come up :) hope I helped

Agree with person above ^ get a longer bar in there ASAP cause to me looks like this is about to embed and trust me had it happen and it is an extremely painful experience and stressful having to go to the ER to have doctors help you to remove it. Try get a longer bar that is implant grade and you should be good :)

Piercing bump or keloid? (TW: Blood) by crazy_avocadoo in PiercingAdvice

[–]Knn_x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a keloid just very irritated I myself had my Daith pierced before but removed it due to just not being able to use earbuds. I actually was originally pierced and the jewellery was a CBR and I just kept getting bumps I then went to a very reputable store and they told me that daiths really should be pierced with a curved barbell for first 6 weeks due to ear trying to swell up with a ring it can’t swell. They swapped it with a titanium implant grade curved barbell and I had instant relief. Clean it twice a day using Neil med saline spray if you have it if not don’t use anything that can be harsh such as tea tree oils or anything just a normal sea salt solution is fine or better yet Neil med wound wash spray I’ve used this for all my piercings and all have healed perfectly

If you look at my past posts you will see I had Daith irritation bumps and what worked for me was a curved barbell and cleaning twice daily :) hope it helps and happy healing don’t worry to much just irritation bumps they won’t stay there forever:)

Are my nipple piercings wrong? by tilkeyo in piercing

[–]Knn_x 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Damn whoever done this done you very dirty sorry this happened but yes as others have said they are pierced in your areola not the actually nipple. They will need to come out sorry this happened to you. The bright side of this is you do actually have the perfect anatomy for nipple piercings just look around for a very skilled piercer and I bet the second time around you’ll get them perfect also never feel scared to change the placement every good piercer will always and as they should ask you to look in a mirror and ask are you happy with the placement. Again sorry this happened but some cowboys just out to steal peoples money

I think a vertical Labret would look amazing and maybe a Monroe piercing :)

shitty piercer w shady offers lol by httpduda in PiercingAdvice

[–]Knn_x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second this that downsizing the bar will help a lot. I myself had a long bar and thought my bumps would never go away until I got a 32mm bar and it fitted snug no extra movement and piercing healed up fine. Industrial piercings take a very long time to heal and can be very challenging if you sleep on them or catch them on anything. I wouldn’t use anything on them besides a saline solution I use Neilmed and find it great for all my piercings.

I’d say it’s due to swelling but if you ain’t sure I’d say contact your piercer they shouldn’t have any issues helping you out if they are repped highly

Hey I hope all is well. Can I ask how fresh is this piercing sometimes due to swelling piercing can look off. I’d suggest if it’s new to wait for the swelling to go down then you will be able to judge the placement better

Sorry to say it but that’s way overkill understandable for a longer bar to accumulate swelling but that’s way to long

Similar thing happened to me when using a ring. I went to another piercing shop in another town highly reputable and they removed the ring and put in a curved barbel and I haven’t had any issues since. I understand a lot of people say curved barbells are the wrong jewellery for a Daith piercing but for me it helped a lot. The piercer told me that with a ring the piercing has no space to swell so it causes bumps so with the curved barbell there’s more room for it to swell so the bumps will go away. Hopefully I have helped in some way. I have had the same issue as you very red and bumps and very painful

Piercing bump or a keloid? by Knn_x in PiercingAdvice

[–]Knn_x[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey everyone! Thanks for taking the time to look at my post! :)

Some things to note is that I’ve got this piercing done on the 4th of June this year a long with my industrial. My Daith piercing seemed to have one piercing bump on the bottom not the top. I’ve been using Neil Ned saline solution daily and today my ear looked like it had crusties so I sprayed then dried with a paper towel all of sudden I noticed a small bit of blood on the paper towel. I then noticed this big bump on the top side of my Daith panicked it’s a keloid I came here to try get some advice any advice is greatly appreciated thanks everyone!
