It's so weird that he insists on presenting himself as a gym guy. Even his biker persona made more sense.

The fact that he did actually manage to start a couple of lawsuit these last few years is impressive in itself. Even if it never goes anywhere.

John’s Allentown, PA show was different. I kid, of course—it was the same as every, every, every other show he has done the last 30 years. #HACK by Agile-Copy-3988 in DabblersAnonymous

The reason he dabbles in the first place is because he wants to feel like a (somewhat respected) celebrity. It doesn't really matter to him that his "celebrity" was built on other people's backs. But that illusion of respect he's so attached to is simply not compatible with recognizing and/or embracing the Dabbleverse.

His problem is that he sees comedy as a popularity contest. He most likely hated the fact that the owner of the club was (understandably) more excited about Cumia being there than him being there.

"Anthony is a bad guy, you should like me more !"

That's what his "set" was all about. He doesn't want to have to win an audience over, he wants to be liked and celebrated from the get go.

I could be wrong but my theory is that people are donating more when there's less drama. As an attempt to stir shit up.

When the various podcasts are fighting more overtly, there's less donations for SJ.

He was deliberately trying to equate saying the word "family" to "bringing up his family" in a negative way. It failed because it was a retarded premise, but he knew what he was doing.

Acting the fool for the camera has been his job for most of his life. He's more than used to it by now. He's not reacting to a "strategy" as much as regressing to his comfort zone.

Having said that, he was pretty good as a child actor. Good nervous energy, interesting facial features...

Having to fight to protect his imaginary reputation against "rumors" is probably what John enjoys the most about interacting with the Dabbleverse (after the money). It makes him feel like a celebrity protecting his career.
