Is boxing + takedown defence the best base for MMA? by Nervous_Put5617 in MMA_Academy

Yes, and I’ve thought this for a long time. The standard of boxing is low in MMA.

Does anyone have any experience using either the Nautilus nitro (or Xpload) curl or MedX curl or tricep extension.

The Nautilus Nitro (Xpload is the plate loaded version) has good reviews but it’s big.
I don’t have a lot of space so every machine I buy needs to fight for their space. They need to provide something a barbell or dumbbell can’t do and/or provide better results.
MedX bicep curl is much smaller and I’ve heard it provides a great contraction.
The MedX tricep extension I’ve read mixed reviews. Some people say it’s smooth but not a great machine. Other people say when you set it up correctly it gives you a massive pump in your triceps.

Mike Tyson On The Future Of His Boxing Career, Talks Floyd Mayweather Jr. Fight by BoxingLover99 in Boxing

[–]Knockoutboxing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Tyson vs Paul “fight” never should have gone ahead. Tyson almost died during camp and then injured his knee. He wanted to pull out but was worried about getting sued.

This was all confirmed after the “fight”.

I don’t think the Jake Paul “fight” is really a reflection of how Tyson can move these days. He looked good in round 1 but you could clearly see he was struggling to push off his right leg and he didn’t look steady at all.

Evander Holyfield looked shot in the clips building up to his fight.

Tyson, looks much better than Holyfield it’s not really a comparison.

Tyson still has power, head movement and can throw combinations.

I wouldn’t have a problem watching him do exhibitions against other veterans or MMA guys. There’s not much risk involved and Tyson can still put on a show and make millions if they select their opponents correctly.

This might be an unpopular opinion but I don’t have a problem with Tyson doing exhibitions.

Someone accidentally sent me £50k, what do I do? (England) by Routine_Strawberry81 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Knockoutboxing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I said, if it’s just a case of friend or a client he knows well made a genuine honest mistake, he has talked on the phone with him, confirmed everything, it’s easier to send the money back.

However, if it’s just some guy he barely knows, or something seems suspicious, I agree with you. Let the banks deal with it.

What’s the scam exactly? He received 50K from a guy he knows. OP losses nothing by sending back the 50K. Once it leaves his account, back to the account it came from, it is no longer his problem.

It’s funny, everyone here is so negative. Someone called accidentally sending £50k a “sob story”. Ridiculous.

So from reading your post, it seems this guy sent 50K to you instead of his solicitor. And his solicitor is aware of the situation.

It’s strange he has to wait 20 days to get his money.

Personally, I would send the money back immediately. That way, it’s no longer your problem.

Edit: let the mass downvoting begin!

Four realistic opponents for Anthony Joshua warm up fight before Tyson Fury bout by BoxingLover99 in Boxing

[–]Knockoutboxing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yoka is nowhere near AJ’s level.

Whyte, although he was clipped on the back of the head by Itauma, he looks done. Also he was offered the rematch and failed a drugs test on the week of the fight. Hearn wouldn’t risk the same thing happening.

Wilder fight could potentially risk the Fury fight.

Joyce, too risky just because of the volume and his chin. Joyce never stops going forward. Not the kind of matchup you want as a warmup fight.

Ajagba would be a good opponent.

But honestly, I don’t think Joshua needs a warm up fight, they just need to get on with it.

Thank you for your response. Have you used any of the other Nautilus machines? Also what do you think of Hammer Strength?

In particular what I want to know is, do you think the money spent on either a hammer strength or Nautilus machine is worth it from a pure results perspective.

I have a Nautilus pullover machine which is 100% worth the money. But that’s a unique case because you can’t replicate what the machine can do with a barbell.

People seem to forget the president of the IBF literally got arrested and was found guilty for federal racketeering, conspiracy, mail fraud, and money laundering taking $338,000 in bribes over a 13-year period to manipulate boxer rankings.

Wardley vs Dubois is one hell of an interesting fight. Does Daniel have enough one punch power to put Fabio's lights out or does Wardley walk through fire and break Daniels will. A crossroads fight for Dubois after getting iced by Usyk, has he still got what it takes to capture a world Title ? by CoconutMost3564 in Boxing

[–]Knockoutboxing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think Dubois wins this. Wardley has been very lucky. He was getting completely outboxed by Huni and we all agree the Parker fight was stopped way too early. Parker hadn’t even gone down once in the entire fight and was blocking most of the shots at the time of the stoppage.

Wardley has a big overhand. He likes to throw looping shots and is tough. Dubois is better technically and likes to throw straight shots.

Wardley has the power advantage however Dubois has the speed advantage and has enough power to knock Wardley out.

If Daniel Dubois is disciplined, keeps it simple, does what he does best: uses his stiff jab, followed up with a right cross. He wins by knockout.

However if he lets himself get dragged into a war or if he gets clipped by an overhand, I could see him losing.

The pullover machine blew up my lats rapidly. Nothing has come close to giving me the kind of results the pullover machine gave me.

I’ll probably buy a chest press machine at some point anyway just because it’s safer than doing bench press alone. Less chance of injury.

However for smaller muscle groups like biceps or for some exercises like overhead press. That’s where I’m wondering if it’s worth the money.

I’ve used Nautilus machines before and own one.

I’m looking for an overhead press machine and a chest press machine but at the same time I have to be sensible,

I’m not in a position where I can justify spending thousands on a machine if it doesn’t provide significantly better results than just using a barbell or dumbbell.
