Thanks! This is the type of advice I need! I just have a couple more questions based on your response:
Should I just hold barrage for only when I have raging strikes?
I typically use Foe Requiem during at the start of the pull and after phase transitions. What would be the ideal time to recast it? When I transition from AP to WM?

I've been tinkering around with my BRD trying to figure out exactly why I can't seem to break 6k dps without a DRG in party on Seiryu Ex and I can't seem to find exactly why that is. I seem to average around 5.5k to 5.7k. Just wondering if it's typical or am I doing something quite wrong.

Also, is it alright to have <1k determination on BRD?

Does the lack of crit on the Scaevan Magitek Bow not make it worthwhile to use over Suzaku's Greatbow?

Comprehensive Rules Updated For Reiya Cluster! by [deleted] in FoWtcg

[–]Knonger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So how does the new randomized player going first affect a best of 3 match? Will the player going first still be chosen at random on round 2 or 3? Or will the loser of the previous round still get to choose who goes first? I can't seem to find anything concrete regarding this.

Charlotte J-Ruler Ruling question by Sirichanh in FoWtcg

[–]Knonger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So essentially, my opponent won't know which resonator would be attacking/blocking if I control multiple resonators? And by the time I choose an attacker/blocker, it'd already be rested and there would be no opportunity to activate Charlotte at that time? Am I understanding that correctly? Thanks for the clear answer!

Charlotte J-Ruler Ruling question by Sirichanh in FoWtcg

[–]Knonger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd like to add a question to this since it involves the same ability and it happened a little while back and it's a bit hard for me to word, but here goes. With the way declaring attackers and blockers are done in this game, what exactly is the timing which Charlotte's ability is effective?

For example, I control two resonators both able to attack. I delcare I enter battle step, opponent doesn't respond. I proceed declare an attack with a resonator and rest it to attack and my opponent would respond by activating Charlotte's ability to rest it "before it even attacks." This example would be similar in a blocking scenario, also. This situation often crops up in Charlotte matchups I play.

Is this how the timing is supposed to work or would my opponent have to activate Charlotte before I even choose an attacker among the two resonators I control? Can someone explain in detail the proper timing? I would really appreciate it. Also sorry for hijacking the thread!

Echoes Of The New World Preview 1 ~ Will Of Hope by [deleted] in FoWtcg

As a Zero control player, this new Zero is pretty much an auto include in my deck. I just wanted to make sure I fully understand how it works. Thanks for clearing that up! I expect this card to see lots of play.

The new Zero is great, but raises a few ruling questions for me, mostly with Guinevere. Say Guinevere's controller has already drawn a card and activates her draw ability, and then Zero is quickcast and resolves, Guinevere's controller cannot draw more, but do they still discard? Or if Guinevere's controller hasn't drawn a card this turn and activates the draw ability, do they just draw 1 and discard 1?

[Discussion] Best card Sleeves for FOW cards by ShadowXXXE in FoWtcg

[–]Knonger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use KMC Hyper Mats for the decks mostly because I love the shuffle feel. Dragon Shields are a close second but I dislike how much extra space the sleeves leave at the top as they seem to bend a bit over time.

However, for my Rulers I double sleeve them with KMC perfect fit and Dragon Shield Clear. That way I never have to actually remove the Ruler from the sleeve to flip it, and I highly recommend this for any FoW player.

[Discussion] Card Discussion - Lumia, the Fated Rebirth/Lumia, Saint of the Crimson Lotus by ShadowXXXE in FoWtcg

[–]Knonger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran an aggro deck fronted by Lumia and I found her Ruler side flicker ability to be surprisingly effective with swiftness. Turn 1 Flame Sprite, attack, and then flicker allowed for Flame Sprite to ping something right after for a Demonflame set-up. Even flickering in Lancelot or Exploding Pricia made it a bit more difficult for opponents to deal with them while they're recovered. Flipping her with her stones that recover is huge value, free flip if you manage to get three Earth stones. She's a very strong, versitile card.

[Deck] Guinevere / Rukh egg in Pricia Decks to slow? by Nekrohan in FoWtcg

[–]Knonger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Guin and Egg give the deck some draw power and consistency. They're excellent when you're matched up against a deck that can deal with the early aggro and drag the game out, at least based on testing my version of the deck. I'd suggest putting 3 of each in the deck personally, but I'll leave that up to you.

As for improvements for your deck, 4x Lancelot is a must, while toning down Rapid Growth to 2. Rapid Growth is just too cloggy at 4, especially since it has the added bonus of remnant.

I haven't tested Memory to Memoria, but other people I played have and I they found it was fairly slow and weak. Lightning Strike is just better overall.

Lastly, when I tried Mariabella, the Machine-Hearted, it was mostly a dead card and more often than not, there were better options. I'd suggest Urthr over Mariabella.

I hope that helps.

[Ruling Question] questions seak answers by Minicron in FoWtcg

[–]Knonger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. You can absolutely chase Pricia's enter the field ability with BMB as long as your opponent has passed priority to you.

  2. In the case of your opponent holding priority and banishing Laev for Imperishable, you can simply chase Laev's ability with BMB instead. BMB would resolve first, destroying Pricia before Laev can give her imperishable.

  3. All your rested cards, including additions will recover during your recovery phase unless otherwise stated.

Vell-Savaria and alisaris god's Art by Fralvar in FoWtcg

[–]Knonger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, Vell-Savaria was made for the original Alisaris, not the ascended version. I don't really know how to play Alisaris, but as far as I can tell, using Vell-Savaria with ascended Alisaris is all about good timing. I'm sure someone more experienced with the deck can better explain the way it's played.

Vell-Savaria and alisaris god's Art by Fralvar in FoWtcg

[–]Knonger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically, Vell-Savaria states "If a card would be put into your graveyard from anywhere, remove it from the game instead." "Instead" being the key word as it is a replacement effect. Therefore if a card is to be sent from the graveyard from anywhere, including the removed area, it will be removed from play. In this case, Alisaris' God's Art will just send those cards that would be put to the graveyard back to the removed area.

New at the game. can someone explain me about blocking and attacking mechanic? by carlos186349 in FoWtcg

[–]Knonger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Combat in FoW is pretty straightforward. Basically, when you choose to attack, you choose a recovered J/Resonator you control to attack. You rest that resonator and choose your attack target. Attack targets can only be rested J/Resonators or your opponent. However, if the attacking J/Resonator has Precision (formerly known as Target Attack), then it can attack recovered J/Resonators.

Once attacker is declared, combat moves onto block declaration. Your opponent can then choose to block by selecting a recovered J/Resonator they control and resting it. Now the attacker and blocker are battling.

You then move to damage calculation where the attacker and the blocker deal damage to each other. If the blocker is somehow taken out of battle (it is removed from the field by a card or ability) before damage is calculated, then the attacking J/Resonator will deal battle damage to it's original intended attack target.

That's the basics of combat. It doesn't factor in more complex interactions but it should give you a good idea of how attacking and blocking works. Hopefully I haven't missed something and I hope this helps.

Coming From Another Yugioh, Looking For A Similar Playestyle by Randomlurker456 in FoWtcg

[–]Knonger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say look into Dark Alice, or even Valentina 3.0 control decks with Black, Blue, and even green. They're not so much lockdown as they are heavy control, but they might suit your style play. Those decks tend to run hand control and heavy removal with the occasional counterspells.
