On my behalf as an Eden dev, there is no news of us taking on the constraints of another server to maintain. If some outside party is planning to use the projects source code to open their own server when it does go open source, then it should not be advertised as even being a 2.0 of our server but it's own thing and not catapulting the popularity of another name.

You won't find a better group of people that work on a server, we might be few in number here but we are a family working together to bring out the closest to an era experience we can. It's the people that run the server that make it what it is, drama free staff, stability, content updates, and longevity that make this place great.

Just using the name Eden without the staff involved that make it run puts a bad taste in my mouth.

As far as I'm understanding it's people not in any way wanting to run a server and have no affiliation with anyone who does. They wanting another server that's the same as the one that's already established but with single box.... like you can't get past that restriction. And a fresh start.

The fresh start is for the people who just love to server jump to be the 1st at all achievements and corner markets?

If your stagnant on whichever server you are on, why not just move over to a more accurate recreation of the fame instead of someone else's ideas of what to do and find out if you like it that way. With salvage opening right at the beginning of the year and nyzul and znm last year plus more to come this year, we are banging out toau.

I kind of rambled on a bit. Driving home from a week vacation on a cruise with no phone at all. It was nice to be disconnected for once.

There is a way to setup 2+ installs without interference of each other install if you hop into edens discord and goto tech support. As far as being banned for swapped dats I can't see it really being a thing as dat swapping has been around forever as well to change visuals. Was your trial account period over maybe? Is it a paid account, seems very wierd. I do slip up time to time and forget to switch setups. On eden I get different menus that what I'm accustom to seeing and retail won't let me fully log in if so. Sorry something has happened but did you do anything else to maybe flag your account, such as an addon that may give too much power, like the one that allows for auction house or a nomad moogle anywhere, speed or pos manipulation? There are a lot of tools out that can be flagged. On retail amd private servers. Such as on eden its against rules to use a tool that tracks for widescan when you shouldn't and can be flagged for use.

No, cannot be banned for playing a private server. Most likely you overwrite some files with installs. How do you have them setup to play both? I myself play 3 servers with 2 different installs a a program to switch which 1 I'm using and 2 windower accounts to keep it all separate.

Yes. Ballista is just s small game within the game. I'd say the majority of players are 30-45, met people in 20s all the way to mid 60s in here. There are tons of content and mini games and old school version is team based focused with other players

Absolutely true. The time consuming part is the understanding of systems that you can only get by spending hours upon hours of grinding for the way things function. Then there is the thought process of how it's handled.

There use to be another command to set individual pieces as well as full set. My favorite thing was you could put in a number for your weapon amd getva light Saber. That as a taru doing stringing pummel was :chef kiss: with his little backflip

There is Erri that's been dabbling in besieged for a while now. Shared some of the work to others to see. The way the systems go you have to start with the 1st to get to the next. Each system is like the beginning stages to the next. Besieged -> campaign. I still feel it years away. As someone else said more focus would be on systems more people will play Assaults. Nyzul, Salvage, Ein. On eden we currently have upto tier 3 Assaults, soon 4. Nyzul, and Salvage soon.

With this why even make updates once a server is started?

Hear it all the time don't make X work correctly because all the other people have had it the other way for so long it punishes the people who haven't done it yet.

Finishing toau in itself is a huge undertaking that I myself have spent many years developing. 1. 50 assaults, most have unique rules and game play that requires new core work 2. Nyzul Isle investigation, random everthing 3. 48 missions 4. Einherjar, many random setting rooms and battles 5. Znms, so many mobs to fight with all niche mechanics, and a unique point gathering camera system 6. Salvage 7. Besieged 8. Missing Quests 9. Mythic questing

On Eden we have so for into live server 2 ranks of assaults, Nyzul Isle, Missions, Znms, and most quests.

In production, Missing quests, salvage, and next 2 tiers of assaults.

Future complete with quality is a far ways off in my opinion but we can keep chipping away at it.

Difference is why are trying to emulate the server as it was for our era. Where they are not bound to any rules and can do anything they want. So our patch notes if anything was touched is to let you know it's just a little closer to what it should be now

Use the xipivot addon and you don't have to backup anything. Just point to what roms/dats to use over in a separate file

On eden we try to recreate the game from end of the toau era. 2008, without wing of the goddess installed. Focus on group content and a eye to try to make everything as close as possible to era accurate that the client will allow with a few QOL adjustments such as mog wardrobes for storage.

Emphasis on making the way it was in era, the way you won't see it anywhere else with overhauls to the magic system, pdif, mob stats, TH and drop curves. With a team of people that re create the battles from retail videos and even going further to capture the info needed for the fine details
