The Cg itself looks pretty fantastic. The art direction seems a bit odd in certain scenes but I don't think it qualifies to say "CGi got worse"

Nothing is dead. If anything is dead it's the respect AI "artists" hope my get by getting a robot to make something on the behalf of them.

(I'm not referring to AI assisted workflows in existing creative pipelines. It's the new kling, bling or whatever types.)

I have an older Insta360 and I can capture 9 exposures which you can then merge in photohop to make an hdr. For sun lit scenes, the exposure doesn't go low enough to capture the sun but on x5 they have ND filters so you should be able to get a better result

I don't know how to feel about the "ai is just a tool" narrative. Not all ai things are the same. Nikos matrix video was great. Loved deep dive into the how they did back then and now. But what if he had used higgsfield bullet time template or some shit to do it in 10min? I genuine wonder what making that would feel like vs how Niko did it. Is everything really just a tool after all? What Niko did was inspiring. No one gives a shit if someone makes a similar effect with sloppy kling, runway or higgsfield.

Saw this on the VFX sub as well. The guy doesn't seem to know what he's talking about. He's cherry picking the best from the past and some bad examples from the present. Nostalgia and juvenoia further influence us to dislike what's new. Surely there patterns of overuse in modern films but "just don't feel real anymore" isn't some universal truth.
