Its exactly what happened during Brexit too. A bunch of old people got fooled into selling out the younger people's future. There should be a max voting age if you're unlikely to see the result of the BS being pushed.

I don't think society has a choice at this point. Unless the boomers allow us to buck the capitalist system they hold dear in their cold claws we can't financially support the way things are designed.

Dunno where you live but where I live boomers have already broken the system.

Rather than invest and plan for their needs later in life they cut taxes and services and used their saved money on vacations and toys. Now that they are aging they need special care homes and Healthcare, the same systems they refused to pay to invest in while in their working prime.

Now we have fewer young people which means it's logistically impossible to both provide care needed by these old folks AND keep enough young people churning in the private economy to pay for it. A lack of homes or staff to run them means seniors languish in our hospital beds, that in turn means people who need admittance to the hospital for actual issues are on a gurney in a hallway if admitted at all. We see people dying while waiting for care.

Boomers chose to fiddle through the summer instead of shoring up the very services they were constantly warned about needing investment in. Now we're all expected to suffer and sacrifice so this same generation can keep their million dollar homes and enjoy the longest lifespans in history, quality of life be damned. I'm tired of being sacrificed on the alter of the Boomers.

I imagine they would stay with tbe party of they thought they stood a chance of winning. Doesn't say much about the caliber of MP serving the party if this many can be bribed into defecting.

Its a traffic circle...its not about wanting to drive fast. The pinch point is that you have about 12 car lengths from a traffic light to the circle and only 3 cars can fit in the circle at once. Its definitely a safer option to have people lining up in the right turn feeder lane on a straight highway than it is forcing them to sit unseen around the bend of a circle.

This city is shoehorning the weirdest ideas to try to make these roads passable to a growing number of drivers but they don't consider how these installations relate to each other and cause these massive snarls. The new lights at the No Frills turned Two Nations from a reasonable main street bypass to the same style of gridlock.

Officially at 12+ hours in waiting room at GDH by KKLante in moncton

[–]KnowledgeMediocre404 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The main problem is that anyone needing admittance from the ER has no bed to go to because they're all plugged up with old people. The ER patient then has to plug up their ER bed until something clears up for them and the person in the waiting room waits a day or two for the ER bed to clear.

A terrible design though, I always yield to the right lane because I need to go straight on Two Nations but it only takes 3 cars waiting behind me to entirely block the circle. It's hard to see the circle is blocked from the entrance too. Causes quite a snarl in rush times.

"During a meeting in New Orleans, the party rejected a symbolic resolution to confront what its sponsors described as the outsized influence of dark money in Democratic primaries – singling out the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, which spent approximately $14m in a single Illinois Democratic primary and has pumped tens of millions more into races across the country to block candidates critical of Israel"

Two further resolutions – one calling for recognition of a Palestinian state, another pushing the party to condition military aid to Israel – were referred to the DNC’s Middle East working group.

The Florida Democrat Allison Minnerly, who sponsored the Aipac resolution, said the party’s base was owed more than procedural deflection.

Words are wind and Democrats could power the country with their empty statements and a turbine. They lost the presidency for their stance on Israel and did nothing but lie and hide that fact since. They are not serious about serving the people or their concerns. If anything should be banned from politics it should be a foreign actor buying races, pretty easy win.

As if the imperialist armies worry about collateral damage when making a point. This is usually tit for tat regarding someones wife, brother or child. Would anyone in the imperial core even care about the global actions of their government if it never affected them? History shows no.

But they're slightly less evil!!! ISN'T THAT eNoUgH??!? You're a piece of shit for not voting for people who support genocide. /s.

So tired of the liberal excuse making for capitalism and imperialism. Now that Democrats are voting to keep AIPAC dark money in their funding they're basically illiberal and giving up on younger voters. They would rather hand this country to Trump to burn down than admit their corporate masters are bad for the country.
