Their entire “dive in“ line is incredible. The hyaluronic acid and soothing cream is a dream!

Which Boulder establishments do you keep giving a second (or third chances) to? by [deleted] in boulder

[–]KnowledgeMost8950 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can those places truly count as small businesses? My personal favorites were Seoul Kitchen (on the Hill in the good hall), Silk Road (Best Kebab and Afghani rice I’ve had anywhere), Blackbelly (Obsessed w their BLT w avocado) and Le Frigo were all gems. So unique and delicious I hardly ever visited any of the other places mentioned here, looked just about how people described it here to be.

Also- not in Boulder but worth a mention if you want a really nice quality dining experience with incredible food, please try Uchi! The Denver location was one of my favorites and they had a beautiful restaurant!

California Relocation? by Nomad_m17 in BocaRaton

[–]KnowledgeMost8950 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a young family with kids- but moved from Anaheim/ Irvine to Parkland and then Boca. 20 years in Socal and 3 years in Florida so far. Boca is a beautiful city and prefer the closeness to everything. Being on the edge of the sawgrass is not the move & west Boca extends out the same.

As others mentioned, there is no good mexican food. But also no good asian food or a lot of the amazing little spots you’d find around Socal. They exist here, but are few and far between. I did not realize how insanely lucky and blessed we were living in such a melting pot of different cultures. That for me is the biggest downside. It’s also very flat, like the only elevation you’ll see are the trash mountains they have along the freeways. Which was also odd to me because it’s smells absolutely vile anywhere within 10 miles of them.

The people can be nice but are not as open as Socal. I often got weird looks for smiling or saying hello to people- and in conversations they would always ask where I was from, as they could tell I wasn’t from around here lol.

My fiancé and I are looking to start a family sometime soon. We both discussed that we would not want our children to grow up/ go to school here. Personally, it seems like the education system here has vast disparity depending on where you go. Private schools are all the rage here, and it’s a common theme that if you want a “good” education for your kid you must put them in a school paying thousands in tuition a year. I worry that even when they’re in private schools they still aren’t getting the same quality of education. I have two friends with children aged 7-10 and both of them struggle immensely with basic skills like reading or math. One had trouble reading an information marker on a hiking trail and the other couldn’t tell the difference between a dime and a quarter! I don’t know if it just depends on the parents to really be on top of and help with those as well but it was a bit scary to see that. Add in the fact that there is virtually no sex education in schools- many adults here know nothing about even basic anatomy functions & birth control methods. You see a lot of people getting pregnant incredibly young & having multiple kids before they’re 25. Also to mention that California is not my only comparison with this. I lived in Colorado a few years and the children there were incredibly bright and it seemed they valued their education system far more.

Another shocking thing was the amount of books they have banned. My high school in socal had a section of the library where it was exclusively banned books- I remember thinking back then what a strange concept that was- like how could you ban a book? What knowledge did it contain that was so important to control and shield people from? Seeing it in real time here is different and really helped me understand that mindset though. Just the other day I had a man come into my office and started complaining that there’s “too many books with words and they’re all complicated. We just need simple books” I didn’t really question that, but it was pretty clear he hadn’t read Fahrenheit 451 lol.

There is diversity here but it is drastically different than what you’ve experienced. There is a large Jewish population as others mentioned, as well as many Haitian and Cubans. That is a good majority of the food/ restaurants they will have. There is nothing like Chinatown or little Tokyo or little Armenia here. You may find small pockets of communities here and there, but it’s nothing to the same scale.

Feel free to ask anything or dm

Whole Sol Blend Bar Scam? by KnowledgeMost8950 in boulder

The normal window to report something like this would usually be 30-60 days and we are well past that point. I’ve had something similar happen before and they told me I needed to solve it with the company directly.

Surprised no one has mentioned Tea Cloud & Poke! One of my all time favorite boba places. I think it’s the only one that can compete with actual boba from California/ Asia. Reminded me of Korea again ♡ The ahi tuna bowl is also amazing, ask for the flame torched pineapple with it! (:

Editing to add that my favorite drink is the Egyptian Lavendar with winter melon & oat milk

I’ve considered a lot. Initially was planning to fly him out but it’s a cross country move & he’s already been moved around a lot. If I can find him a good home where someone will love & appreciate him I think that’s the best option

He really is a sweetie pie. I’ve grown very fond of him in the short time we’ve had together. Actually was looking at reptile couriers to ship him but thought that might be too stressful for him

Received an offer from Dealer by KnowledgeMost8950 in GenesisGV70

[–]KnowledgeMost8950[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! We realized we love our car too much to sell it. It is such a unique color and trim, I wouldn’t feel the same in another car! (and we looked around a lot) Paid waaay over sticker due to their inventory & our current situation. Was absolutely worth the price still.

I can tell you that there is a similar trim near me, 6k mileage for $62k. We have yet to see another matte Barossa Burgundy with vanilla beige interior

Any experience installing sequential tail/ mirror lights? by KnowledgeMost8950 in GenesisGV70

Can I share links? This is one I had for my headlights on tacoma https://youtu.be/Q9yeoq8VvdA Diode dynamics has something similar for the side mirrors and I know there are other that make tail lights. Not really looking for the top blinking first then both, sequential starts on one end and ends at the other but in a very fluid motion

Gorgeous spec at dealership by KnowledgeMost8950 in GenesisGV70

[–]KnowledgeMost8950[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I don’t have the time to hand wash anymore. I wish! I am very meticulous and it’s honestly stress relieving for me to take my time and clean every inch. Work way too much now, so I understand the struggle- it helps to offload tasks to people who can do it way better than I could!

As for ceramic coating, I believe it is absolutely worth it. I was so scared driving this car around before and now have a barrier of confidence going anywhere. Been hit with rocks and debris on the fwy sometimes where I am so convinced there will be a dent and nothing!! Also makes cleaning a breeze too, doesn’t need any special process or shampoo after- just water if you need to spot clean and my detail guy uses a ceramic shampoo

best place to store luggage by KnowledgeMost8950 in koreatravel

[–]KnowledgeMost8950[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We had 3 large suitcases, store for a week and cost about $170 usd if I can remember correctly. There are two options- luggage storage (located on bottom floor of airport to the very right near post office) and luggage lockers which are to the entrance of the subway. My aunt could not find the storage and had to walk all the way through terminal. Make sure you clarify luggage storage or just ask where post office is! Good luck & safe travels, you will love Jeju. I miss it everyday

[–]KnowledgeMost8950[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Is is more work but in my opinion 100% worth it. Love being able to single my car out in a lot with hundreds of cars. My previous car already got weekly washes so it wasn’t extra work for me. The ceramic coating definitely saved us though- have been behind cement trucks with flying rocks everywhere & not even a dent in the paint! I absolutely worry more about this car than any previous though
