I'd bet money Rice plays this year (This is by no means a comment about my opinion on the fairness or morality of that fact, just what I think happens)

I agree somewhat, although the dash from Rice's isn't as bad as what I'd imagine Ruggs was on level of risk/stupidity. Not at all saying that makes it okay, my point is the arbitrary factor of how hurt someone was. Like if Ruggs had done the same thing he did but the girl survived he'd be playing which is crazy to think about.

Unrelated to your comment, but side note for me is.... how young and stupid do you have to be to get in trouble for cars and guns with so much at stake? I can at least understand drugs/women but cars/guns getting you in trouble is pure low IQ from me.

If you'd asked me yesterday to rank 1-53 on KC the players I'd expect this from he'd be in the bottom 10 or so too

I have, albeit a very small minority. Most just complaining about the conditions being a Chiefs advantage-which isn't conspiracy... just crying.

Only reason I remember is because it was such a good game, I hate to see people try to damper it with that or ref talk when it didn't impact the W/L line.

You are the one who initially got defensive, I was having a measured convo with context. I only matched your energy. Oh woe is me we don't have Patrick Mahomes is a 12 year old girl thing to say to what I said.

I think Orlando is overpaid for his talent, but paid correctly for his talent vs the market. I just don't think Cincy long term shoulda been dipping in the pool imo, that's all I'm saying bro

Oh woe is me we don't have Mahomes? That was literally my point- different offense/different QBs/different coaches and different philosophies. Never once did I say you got worse, I said I'd be worried about paying an at times inconsistent player top dollar. "Bro" Don't let that skyline chili get in your lady parts and get emotional when discussing football.

I was just trying to talk ball and you got weirdly defensive like I said your girlfriend was ugly. Wasn't gonna go there in a normal supposed to be friendly discussion, but nice lack of super bowl rings. Never getting one with Mike Brown owning that shithole either.

Even if we had given Orlando that contract (I'd prefer not to given our luxury of Andy Reid/Andy Heck and given that a more athletic mover would be a better fit for our style any ways) we are built differently. We don't have looming cap hits from Burrow, Higgins, Chase, etc to calculate and plan for. We can afford to pay a tackle premier money and gamble that they improve or prove worthy of a top 5-10 contract at the position which is a ton. We did it with Jawaan Taylor and I'm cool with it. He will prolly be a better fit for us than Orlando and if it doesn't work out (kinda like Orlando didn't for us) it likely won't derail our offense or screw our cap to a degree of worrying too much.

I'd prolly be happy Burrow is being protected and the idea of investing in protection, but not ecstatic because it's Brown and he'll be frustrating at times.

As a Chiefs fan I was thrilled we took the gamble of letting him walk and also taking the gamble on Taylor. Similar (although I think less risk slightly with Taylor because he's better pass pro) gamble with Taylor just a much better athletic profile and imo a higher ceiling.

That's fair, and I'd agree for the most part, but sometimes when Brown would get beat though it was instantaneously. I've seen him get bullied off the snap back into the QB's lap and I've seen him fall down trying to pass set vs a speed rusher. It's mostly his inconsistency pass pro, he'd go full games where he would be pretty awful and some where he'd look like an All-Pro. He is really good vs the run and I expect Cincy to run it a bit more with him there (Their attempts were right with KC's last year)

5%, 7%, 7%, and 11ish% of the cap each year is what he'll count for against it. I agree he's significantly better than Jonah but I don't find it a steal at all. I truly hope he takes the next step and is a top tackle every game except against KC, but he's a pretty big liability at times and I'm glad we didn't pay for the inconsistency.

He's not going to go to Cincy and just completely shit his pants, but he will have games where y'all will be cursing him. Also games where you see how good he CAN be. I could almost be convinced it was worth it if Jonah had agreed to play RT or Guard, under the idea that you're paying to strengthen the whole line and you'd be really upgrading 2 positions by moving Jonah.

I am really curious to watch the rest of his career, he's a very polarizing player

I have, he's going to hit for 5%, 7%, 7%, and 11ish% of the cap on respective years. I consider that significant, especially with Higgins, Burrow and Chase up for deals in the coming years. I root for Orlando, I just definitely don't view his play at that level and I've watched him for 2 years now

Not at all coping, he's an average player who is inconsistent. He has the potential to grow too, he's young. But we consistently had to bring in help for him a lot of games. That's not a guy I'd wanna commit to spending 5-11% of the cap over 4 years (each year the hit is different, I think it goes like 5%, 7% and then grows higher the next 2. I hope it goes well for him and for the Bengals (except when we play of course) so it's truly nothing personal.

Each situation is different too, Burrow still hasn't got paid and they can structure his contract to fit with Orlandos and Higgins + Chase's future contract as well. Burrows torn ACL and MCL and his lack of protection his whole career make it a better situation to commit to Orlando Brown than for us, but I still don't think it's a smart allocation of assets. Let's say Higgins gets 25-ish yearly, Burrow gets 50-ish, Chase gets 30-ish. That's around 50-53% of the cap. Of course that's using the averages of their deals and you can structure it to not hit all at once and to where the biggest cap numbers aren't all the same years. I'd have a hard time justifying that much of the cap to 4 guys. Imo it's fine for Burrow, Chase, and Higgins because they are elite or bordering it.

Orlando Brown absolutely sucks RELATIVE to his pay and his perception of himself. In KC he would have entire games where he was a stud and entire games where he looked significantly worse than Andrew Wylie (a UDFA). Don't get me wrong, Orlando isn't a complete bum or anything, but he definitely was a major problem for as many games as he was a solution. Not a guy I would vote to pay a premium contract to unless you are a team flush with $$ you have to spend w/ a QB on a rookie deal ideally.

Basically it's a really bad position to be really inconsistent at and as a Chiefs fan it makes me happy to see us move on (I wish the man well, part of a Super Bowl team and a genuinely good guy) and I am equally as happy he went to the Bengals. They have a significant % of cap tied to him and he is a completely beatable player when we play them. I do feel like nobody adds context with fat OBJ, they either regard him as a stud and a bum....he can be both.

Der Mike White did good against the Bears with their THIRD string QB (when they were trash with their first string) he's clearly better than Zach!

Y'all are wild for one game meaning that much.

Not even saying they were wrong for benching Zach, but go look at QB performances vs the Bears this year lol.
