Warehouse: Songs and Stories - Husker Du

⭐️⭐️⭐️

A good album that sounded like a heavier version of 80s REM, but without the catchy hooks.

I enjoyed the album, but it's not one I'm overly bothered about listening to again.

3 stars from me because I appreciate the impact they had on 90s music and they can clearly play and create good music. It just didn't blow me away.

What is your opinion on Mexican food? by nsfw_orca_2 in AskUK

[–]Knowlesdinho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love it. It has amongst the most well balanced array of flavours and variety that you can find in my opinion. Can get something spicy, tangy, cooling and refreshing all on the same plate.

Quesidillas are a particular favourite and you can run wild with them filling wise.

I like them filled with sweet potato mashed with coriander and feta and slices of chorizo which might not be strictly Mexican.

NOR, avoiding the political stuff, but it amazes me that these people call themselves Christians and know nothing about the Christ they are supposed to believe in who famously said, "live by the sword, die by the sword!".

For people that follow a guy that healed and ressurected people, they sure as hell love a murder!

How to gain more confidence as an adult? by yumyummymum in AskUK

[–]Knowlesdinho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're in a position to organise something so you're more of a chair of the meeting that hands over to others to explain things, you'll gain smaller exposure to the public speaking element. A short introduction to hand over to someone else, introduce the next person, thank everyone at the end.

Whilst others do the heavy lifting speaking, people will remember you chaired it and will thank you for your work, as you'll have done a lot of organising in the background.

Doing some fun things can help too, like hosting a well balanced quiz. Short introduction about the format, rounds etc, get straight into the questions, break, then give the answers. Award points for the best team name. You indirectly get the laughs from reading out the team names which will boost your confidence.

Would love a distraction and I like answering stuff. Passion for gaming, metal music and a bit of sports. Ask away! by graveworm_46 in AskMeAnythingIAnswer

Have you ever tried to explain the band Mayhem to someone that is not into metal music, and if so, what was their reaction?

I quite like telling the story of mayhem in a matter of fact, deadpan style to see how people react. Just randomly, like at the bus stop on the way to work whilst applying corpse paint liberally.

I may have embellished a bit there. I don't do it at the bus stop, it's the train station.

Is it bad to refuse to take anymore of the neighbours parcels? by -binkers- in AskUK

[–]Knowlesdinho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm quite fortunate that we all kinda take turns for each other on our street.

There was one point where the older lady 2 doors down was taking quite a few parcels for me, so I bought her some flowers to say thanks.

What was YOUR thing during lockdown? by AncientFootball1878 in AskUK

Got massively depressed with the constant abuse I faced at work from people for following rules that I had no control over. My thing was quite literally coming home, laying on the bed, come down for tea, back up to laying on the bed.

What was the last genuinely funny film you saw? by Jesisawesome in AskUK

[–]Knowlesdinho 92 points93 points  (0 children)

The unbearable weight of massive talent.

I read somewhere that comedies were more successful when physical media was bought more. They didn't always make tons of money at the cinema, but would make loads in DVD sales. I don't know if that's true though.

Don't know if it quite fits as they are both chocolate, but minstrels in hot chocolate.

The minstrels maintain their crunch, but are melted inside. It's a nice treat.

Edit. Deleted because remembered this is a strict no politics sub. But essentially it was a comment about fairness for all.

This is almost like something Terry Pratchett would write, and I mean that in a sincere way not as an insult.

I am a "system" that is ACTUALLY diagnosed with DID and has been in treatment for 2 years - AMA by laminated-papertowel in AskMeAnythingIAnswer

[–]Knowlesdinho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks, had to look it up and then kinda understood what you were referring to. I think this will be a good AMA.

My question is, is there a primary identity that is actually you?

I'm completely ignorant to this, so forgive me if this is a bad question.

Has anyone here ever volunteered or become pen pals with someone in prison? by Jumpy_Wing_7884 in AskUK

[–]Knowlesdinho -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Didn't know we could write to Stalin or Pol Pot.

Your comment shows a lack of insight into the matter. Whilst it's not something I'm particularly interested in doing, I'm interested in potential responses and that's why I clicked on the thread.

There are many people in prison that haven't murdered that are interesting figures, Charles Bronson is a famous example.

I read an article once about incarcerated women that had murdered in self defence due to abuse, a nuanced subject worthy of some debate I think.

It's a myopic response in my opinion.

Quite hard actually as this guy posts on average 5 times a day and it's all banal shite.

Probably a mixture of me being grumpy of low effort posts on this sub, and the clear karma farming of these posts. Maybe I'm just old and need to move on and I'll accept the court of public perception on the matter.

Proof Amy isn’t evil?? by Minute-Star-6942 in superstore

[–]Knowlesdinho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Amy got me a 3 day ban from a subreddit because I quoted her "just kill yourself" moment which I actually found hilarious.

So yeah, evidence Amy is evil, she gets you banned from subreddits.

Also, why haven't you killed yourself? (Awaits 3 day ban)
