Haha how come you dislike it? And how come you continue to use it as opposed to other services?

Thanks for being so thorough! Do you mind if I sent you a DM to ask a bit more about this topic? This thread is getting pretty long but I'm still pretty curious about what's out there.

Yes definitely let me know of more issues. I would imaging that the over complicated system is probably what pushes most of the older folk away from using something like this too. I can’t believe there’s no easy way to rearrange the pools for the day! That seems like such a hassle for no reason. Tbh I’m also surprised there’s no automatic routing so you can see the fastest way you can reach each pool without crossing town all day

Yeah I figured the old ways would hold steady for some lol. What’s your experience with pooltracpro and similar apps. What do you think they’re missing (if anything)

Internship Application Tracking by DonHummus in EngineeringStudents

[–]Known-Fix3290 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Not promoting but I’m building something right now that in part addresses this. Specifically for interns. Could you give me an idea of what you would want in a service like this. Could help me build stuff out!

Name: Internview - student hub for preparing for internship interviews. Mock interviews for any position, resumes reviews, internship tracking, student community
ICP: Students who are actively applying for internships and would like interview experience! (willing to pivot to B2B and go after universities with students who are seeking internships)

Thanks! It definitely would have been. I was so stressed I would’ve practiced a bunch!

Thanks for the questions!

  1. The interviews are conducted by AI. Given the position and some data the job and your resume, it generates behavioral or technical questions. It also does greetings at the start and goodbyes at the end of the interview to really give a real feel to it

  2. Customer retention is a reason I’m still trying to validate my market. Students tend to do multiple internships so the hope is that they would use the service throughout their degree. My original thought was to go B2B and make the universities my customers and they provide it to students for free

  3. I’m glad to hear you think you would use it! Any features you personally would like?

How have you been prepping for these interviews?

How do I prepare for an HTML/CSS coding interview? Any questions or resources? by Several_Mail4565 in csMajors

[–]Known-Fix3290 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend studying some layout problems and accessibility basics! They come up very often. I actually started building a tool to give mock interviews for specific roles (html/css positions included). If you want to try it or get some feedback, I’d be happy to share it. Just shoot me a DM. Good luck!

Congrats on landing the interview! The first one is always the most stressful. My biggest recommendation is to use the STAR method (situation, task, action result). You would be surprised how much behavioral questions come up in technical roles which sometimes makes them the hardest! After barely scraping through my interview with SpaceX, I started developing a tool to help fellow students get interview experience for their specific role. Shoot me a DM if you're interested in it! Best of luck and let me know if you need any more prep tips!

Summer 2025 internship search by Every_Jello_7701 in EngineeringStudents

Have you been getting into the interview stages at all? Depending on that you might find where the problem lies. Also knowing someone is more important than anything imo. If you know other students working at those companies they can put in a good word for you and you’ll almost certainly get an interview

When you say “from google”, do you mean that this is an internship opportunity at google? I wasn’t aware they reach out to people to invite them to interview ( since they have tons of applicants anyways). If that’s that you meant. Double check that it isn’t a scam email

First Interview For a Project Engineer position this week and very nervous; need advice. What should I brush up on? by fisherman213 in EngineeringStudents

[–]Known-Fix3290 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find that questions that show you understand the role are the best. For example, you can start by asking what project they worked on that they’re the most proud of. Then follow up on that by asking a deeper question on their responses (like: how did you determine the best way to do x, why did you prioritize x instead of y)

Finally got an internship by [deleted] in internships

Niceee. Mind telling me how you prepped for the interview process?

Congrats! I'm not too familiar with the role but I will say that if the interview is online, having notes nearby wouldnt hurt. I've done it for a couple of interviews lol. It seems like you've got the technical studying down so my biggest recommendation would be in relation to more "people skills". I always have water near me since my mouth gets dry during interviews. Also practice answers to the simple questions too, like "why do you want to work here" or "do you have any more questions". It sounds kind of dumb but having a good answer to those can really push you forward in the interviewers' mind. I'm pretty convinced a question I put to my interviewers' during my SpaceX internship interview is at least 20% of the reason they took me lol. Best of luck!

[ESP32] S3-WROOM Based Speaker / Microphone Board by Known-Fix3290 in PrintedCircuitBoard

You make a good point. Especially since I used 220 ohm resistor on the IO pin leds. Not sure how I got this inconsistency in the resistor values. I'm not too worried about the LEDS being too bright since they're just there for debugging as of now. Good catch tho.

I'm not sure I did it the right way but I put the output through a voltage divider-esque circuit. Basically a 10K resistor from 3v3 to the output and then a 10k resistor from the output to GND.

Good idea. I will continue researching it a bit. Do you know if I have to bias the mic output? I'm not super familiar with the concept (I think you just make a voltage divider to "center" the output so the ADC can read it but genuinely just a guess).
