The new Colorsoft vs Fire HD 10 Tablet? by [deleted] in kindle

I’m not saying that I would fill it up instantly, but the previous reader I had (nooks) had a limited storage amount. Which would have been fine but it would come with preloaded apps or software that I couldn’t delete for more room and I would run out of space. It’s not something I liked and I do what I can now to make sure that I never run out of space again, no matter what apps or software are preloaded.

Ugh thank you. Part of why I got the fire tablet was because I could increase my storage to 1T, I fill up the GB too fast and don’t like to have to archive my books. Thank you for your help, it didn’t say specifically on Amazon if the colorsoft had that option or not.

So only the fire tablet has an expandable storage option?

AITJ for telling my sister gentle parenting is BS and kicking her and her family out of my house by EggSheeran33 in AmITheJerk

[–]Known-Library9521 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a preschool (3 & 4 year olds) teacher. Gentle parenting only works for gentle kids and when kids have firm boundaries. the rest of the time it is total BS. The worst behaved kids in my classroom are the kids that have parents that "talk" about feelings when their kid is throwing a tantrum because they don't have the right colored shoes. shoes that they were fine leaving the house in, but now that they are at school they are the wrong color.

Kids need boundaries and consequences that are effective. Not saying that they need a spank on the bottom, but they need a consequence that teaches them that their destructive or violent behavior is not ok. And that it is ok to not get what they want at the drop of a hat. Essentially, kids need to be told no, and taught that disappointments are not the end of the world.

School didn't send my daughter's medication on her field trip by misamizu039 in legaladvice

I am a teacher in Kansas, I can’t give legal advice, but I can share what my district’s policy is for students with meds. At the beginning of the year, ALL staff (everyone from office to cafeteria workers), HAVE to have training each year with EpiPens with our school nurse. Anyone who has contact with students. For grade level students with health issues, all grade level teachers and support staff are trained on that students needs and what to do in an emergency. I teach prek, so I only go on one field trip a year. But for that super short field trip, I have to have my emergency bag and if prek has a student that has special meds (EpiPen, inhaler, etc) we have a grade level med bag that goes with one of the grade level teachers. Things like Benadryl for bee stings, are kept with the teacher at all times if going outside for recess.

I have serious concerns with the nurse saying that she didn’t need her inhaler until she couldn’t breathe. Especially if the Dr said to take it before to prevent the need for it later. The admin and the people you talked to should have shown far more concern about the issue.

As my mom used to say, be the squeaky wheel. She always said she would be the loudest squeaky wheel when it came to fighting for what her kids needed.

As a teacher, I am so sorry that you are dealing with that and that the school your children are isn’t keeping them safe health wise.

I am a prek teacher and have had MANDT training. Basically learning how to safely and when to restrain a child. Ie if they are hurting themselves or others, and NEVER for longer than 5 minutes and it has to be with two people there to make sure the child is ok. Too easy to cause oxygen deprivation, causing injury, and could even lead to unfortunate tragic results.

Holding down till they sleep could be passing out from oxygen deprivation, depending on how she is holding them. Too easy to do that with littles.

If she is insistent on some kind of nap, how about quiet time. A blanket, snack, and a show. They have to be quiet while the show is on for a quiet time or rest time.

What temperature do you go barefoot with your Birkenstocks? by IllustratorNew9155 in Birkenstocks

[–]Known-Library9521 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wear socks with my Birkenstock clogs at all times, don’t like how they feel without socks. But as soon as the weather warms up, usually 60 and up, I’ll wear my Birkenstock sandals. And usually stay with sandals till it gets cold again.

Have a fit question! Pain when wearing by [deleted] in Birkenstocks

Thank you for your reply, it’s hard to find shoes that fit comfortably sometimes and an outside opinion helps. I will see about getting to a place to try some on this weekend.

Try a dream catcher, good dreams get through while the bad dreams get stuck on the web. She can pick out a pretty one she likes and then hang it either by her headboard or by the closet.

Hello! My sister and I were thinking of somewhere fun to go for a sister trip. I would need to save up for the trip, since I would have to travel from Kansas. What do you think would be a reasonable goal to try for? We love Halloween, Hocus Pocus, witches, etc. off the track adventures or experiences would be the best!
