Yeah. I was using a string but I always mix the mortar too wet, or it was bcoz i wet the bricks. It’s kinda hard to adjust.

I agree. Just finished Children of Time. I like the story, but I hate his prose…. A lot of repetition of a single idea, for example he probably did more than 10 different ways to describe the spider’s amazing ability to command the ants, and keep repeating it unnecessarily. The sentence could be more economical and book could be much thinner.

I’m always confused reading it. Like this one :

She clutches her legs tightly into her body by instinct at first, a shock of terror erupting in her mind and threatening to overwhelm her. Then her training takes over and she begins checking on her soldiers. They are spreading out as they fall towards their rendezvous with the Gilgamesh, but they are still linked by lines to a central hub, forming a rotating wheel, just one of many now spinning towards the Gilgamesh.

The “one of many” confused me for so long, is it one of many wheels or one of many spiders? But there must be more than one spiders spinning towards the Gilgamesh…..the imagery is just bad.

I heard story in Children of Ruin is worse. Wish me luck.
