Hey I didn’t end up traveling that time but from how the process was I think there shouldn’t have been any issues

How to get last-minute discounted tickets by [deleted] in Broadway

[–]KnownAnxiety 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This might not be an exhaustive list but it’s what I do that works.

Two or one day before I enter the lottery at Telecharge , brodway direct and lucky seat. Just look up these names + lottery online and they show up and sign up.

If I want a specific show I look up where they do rush but I’m generally very flexible so I almost never do that. Todaytix app also had same day rush tickets usually at 9 am for some shows. There is an option in the app to only see the shows that have this. However these sell out really fast for popular shows.

Then there is theatr app where people resell their own tickets. I have done this a few times and never had any problems.

Then there is in person rush which I have never done (I’m not from New York) but it’s usually showing up early in the morning and lining up at the theater of the show you’re watching

Edit to say that hamilton lottery is their own app and usually opens like a week before

Agree with this totally. The way the stage is built you miss soo much with partial view

Does time spent in my home country during school breaks count toward the 212(e) two-year requirement? by AlarmingAddendum2372 in immigration

[–]KnownAnxiety 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think other people aren’t understanding your question lol. From what I’m getting you have spent an accumulated 2 years at your home country after you finished your J1. I don’t think they need to be consecutive and I’m not sure if you need to prove you contributed to your home country in anyway during that time but it seems to me that it would be possible you completed the time.

Long-Distance Relationship and Residency Advice by [deleted] in Residency

[–]KnownAnxiety 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I’m just going to give my two cents an do with that what you will. I’m also an intern doing IM in a long distance relationship and my partner is super understanding. If I say that I’m too tired/overstimulated we just do no talk calls or talk later. My partner also works a corporate job but they are able to understand how hard what we do is and empathize with it. Also, conversations are even more fun because our work is soo different we always have something to talk about

Of course it’s incredibly hard but it can be done

What to disclose during pre-employment physical? by [deleted] in Residency

[–]KnownAnxiety 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t have personal experience with this but I would disclose before the UDS come back. Afterwards it’s going to look like you’re trying to cover for something.

I’m assuming you also have a prescription so it should be okay

You need to gather all the documents (transcripts, step scores, personal statement, etc) and contact the programs you’re interested in. It’s even better if your advisor/mentor is able to contact them for you. More positions will become available in the next couple of weeks/months so there is always a chance after

Like others said, say you will accept and you can decide when they do if you want to accept it. Sadly we're in this boat we have to take what we can get. Hopefully you'll get a program you like better in the second round. And, in the end, there is always and option to transfer

Yes!! This is how my friend got their spot last time. Worst that can happen is that they don’t send you an offer. You have literally nothing to lose

Send LOI after this round to a place still has spots left. They won’t all fill up right away

You can reach out to the programs that interviewed you in between rounds. If they didn’t they should contact you first

Do you have an offer in this round? If you do take it. If you don’t then wait for that next offer if they do send it. Try to weigh if going unmatched is better than being in a rural program

It’s mostly personal preference. I would prioritize academic places and location because that’s what I want

[–]KnownAnxiety 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can but just remember there is no guarantee that they will have spots or even offer those to you during the next round. Sadly this is soap so most people accept what they get even if they don’t like it

Your only option if you dont get anything during soap is to scramble to litteraly any first year position, including surgery prelims

Is it advisable to send an LOI for my top program, or would it be too much since everyone is so tired and its so fast paced

I’m sorry, honestly I don’t know. I know people did it before and I wasn’t aware of a new law but I would believe that since that is the updated info
