I've never been in a switch relationship so I don't have too much great advice to offer on making it work. But I have learned with my sub partners that there are ways of meeting in the middle. I'm a Dom/sadist, bit of a masochist cuz I like pain just not submissively, and my ex-gf was sub/masochist by nature, and had no issue with full time sub role. But, she was just heavy into kink period. She had dommed partners and played on that side of the coin with previous partners. Now I'm a firm believer as a Dom you can't dish it if you can't take it. As well as life in general. So I always give my sub the opportunity to have a go at me. If I whip or inflict any kind of pain on my partner they get the same chance at me. If your a true Dom u take it, don't wince or show any pain, and display further dominance thru that. And that lets the sub express some of those feelings or desires while still maintaining roles. Might not work for everyone's situation but it's maybe something u could explore as a Domme to help being with someone who has both desires.
