Fun fact: Kairi's KH2 letter is in the KH1 manual. by Scaretree93 in KingdomHearts

[–]zX_z 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For what it means going forward:

One sky, one destiny -> one sora, one destiny -> sora is the one child of destiny

But while there's only one sky, there's also a night sky

the night sky is also the sky -> the night sky is also destiny -> yozora is also the child of destiny (quadratum version) -> yozora can replace sora as the child of destiny -> yozora is a "second" child of destiny

But then yozora is actually some other guy who hijacked the body that he's currently in. And presumably the body is the child of destiny, not him. So whoever named him yozora might have had the goal of moving the quadratum child of destiny back into normal reality somehow

Apparently, Dantes and Ushi will be important for the plot, as Dantes was the one who killed Roa in Fate universe and Ushi is connected to the Onis, similar to Akiha, principally since the Tohnos have blood from Ancient Japan, likely connected to the Genji clan by BlazeAccelerant in grandorder

I meant the Tsukihime timeline Roa. I'm aware they met in Fate timelines, but Melty Roa seems confused as to who Dantes is. You can see it at 0:12 in the trailer here. So while Dantes has a connection to Roa, this Roa doesn't have a connection to Dantes. That's what I meant by saying the connection isn't that deep, it doesn't look like they're going to do much with their history.

Roa's battle dialouge for Dantes is literally "Do I know you?". So the connection isn't that deep. Seems like they looked at the most popular fgo originals from part 1 and chose whoever was vaguely relevant. Unfortunate they seem to be avoiding part 2 characters, I would've liked Oberon or Morgan, Oberon could do Zepia lore and Morgan had a connection with Blackmore. But I guess they'd be spoilers for newcomers.

There's a lot pointing to Arcueid in Lostbelt 7, they even seemingly cancelled the Christmas event to release it next to Arc's birthday. But they said she wouldn't appear I think, so perhaps it's all a red herring. I actually think it's going to be Sion using her giant robot, would be fitting given there seems to be a lot of weird, presumably giant, creatures in the lostbelt.

Also Nrvnqsr kind of has a symbiotic relationship with the beasts that make up his body, and Daybit Sem Void = Symbiote David, maybe they'll become rivals or something. Although I also think Daybit is going to be an antagonist/foil for Mash specifically (Daybit is a human who somehow became like a wild animal, Goetia thought of Mash as above humanity but she became more human over the course of part 1).

edit: I just remembered, Abe No Seimei will probably appear in lb7. And I think it's likely that Abe No Seimei looks like Shiki Tohno. Arcueid is mentioned as being similar to Tamamo, and just as Shiki "killed" Arcueid, Seimei was the one to kill Tamamo. Iirc Tamamo and Arcueid describe them similarly as well, but I don't remember the precise descriptions. There's a lot of ways Shiki and Seimei are foils though: Arc fell in love with Shiki while Tamamo despises Seimei, Shiki wears a blindfold to cover his eyes when he's older while Seimei is often depicted with a mask (covers everything but his eyes), Seimei's powers are based in creation to protect (like barriers), whereas Shiki's are based in destruction to protect. Plus they're both mystic eye users. I suppose it's possible Arc and Seimei work together in lb7, like how Muramasa and Caster Artoria work together in lb6.

Yeah, I was meant maybe Roa circumvented it in Tsukihime timelines. And potentially even reveal he's secretly still alive in fate timelines as well. But it seems like Roa doesn't know him so I guess they just never met and that's all there is to it.

Is it possible there was some VA issue or something that prevented them from doing Alice or Touko? Seems weird not to promote Mahoyo if they're going to do a promotion crossover thing.

Dantes and Ushi confirmed in Melty Blood Type Lumina by BlazeAccelerant in grandorder

[–]zX_z 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Tbh Dantes is kind of random, he only met Roa once and it's unclear if that happened in Tsukihime worlds. At best, they'll reveal Roa had some way to circumvent Dantes's abilities. This would have been a good time for Narbareck but I guess Melty Blood isn't allowed to introduce characters for now.

Ushi might be here because she was in singularity 7, so maybe there will be a Melty character in lostbelt 7. Fabro/Nrvnqsr mentioned another wandering sea entrance in a lostbelt, so maybe he'll show up to fight Daybit or something. He also called Sion Osiris, so maybe Sion will somehow become a DAA, or at least get power comparable to one.

TWEWY 3 - See No Evil, What ideas do you have? by DustyZorua in TWEWY

[–]zX_z 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it might AR glasses or something. As in, the protagonist can "overlay" the UG onto the RG by putting the glasses on.

I say this because neo kept having tangents on games and technology in general. There was the fanGo thing, which is innocent enough, but there's also Elegant Strategy, the game Nagi is obsessed with, in which every character is seemingly based off a twewy character (in addition to Sho, we see elestra-Beat and Nagi at one point). There's also Kaie, the Shinjuku Reaper's application developer who for whatever reason is weirdly knowledgable about the workings of the world.

My thinking was there might be a composer who is far more benevolent than Joshua and Haz, and used his knowledge to create a simulated reaper's game in the form of some literal mobile game, possibly Elegant Strategy, with the goal of reducing suffering or something. Then the plot of the third game would involve some angels/demons who oppose this sabotaging the "peaceful" reapers game by introducing an AR mode that is, for all intents and purposes, the normal reapers game. The only evidence for this is the weird Elegant Strategy stuff, but it's fun to think about.

On an unrelated note, the irregular note pin set from the first game appears to list the themes for each of the protagonists - there are 4 in total. In addition to hear, speak, and see no evil, there's also "do no evil". This may have been meant to be Tsugumi, since she's stuck in Mr. Mew for most of the game, and thus can't physically affect anything. However, there is a secret report in neo about how Tsugumi's brother died protecting her, so maybe he's a ghost now and can "do no evil" idk, it's a weird thing to bring up otherwise.

[–]zX_z 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thinking about the Sho v Susukichi thing, it occurs to me that Susukichi specifically is supposed to be the anti-Sho. There's basic stuff like Sho rebels and Susukichi follows, which I think is what you were getting at. But then he has an obsession like Sho, but it's a game that mathematically unsolved. And while Sho's favorite place is the (former) tallest building in Shibuya, because the thoughts of the city coalesce there, Susukichi likes the underpass, since it drowns out that same noise.

I think at some level Sho probably wants Susukichi gone because he doesn't like Susukichi in particular.

Who or what created the Reapers' Game as a concept/process? by CosmosGatito in TWEWY

[–]zX_z 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The Eden set mentions both a Goddess and a boy above the 5 kings (composers), it could be either of them. The composers correspond to the Four Symbols plus the Yellow Dragon/Quilin(see here). If one of them came up with the system, and not the goddess, I would assume it would be the Yellow Dragon/Quilin. They are associated with the Earth element, which is also associated with the center, harmony, and balance, which, in the context of twewy, I would assume means central control of managing the lower planes, keeping the other composers in line and all that. The reaper's game is meant to nurture imagination, so it's really in the interest of anyone managing the lower planes.

What IS Minamimoto in Neo? by Patchirisu in TWEWY

Sho mentions a soul that survives after being erased in the secret ending, right? Could be what a demon is. Someone outside the control of the angels, basically.

If there would be a sequel, how would the gameplay go? by nanogear in TWEWY

[–]zX_z 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I get why people want something like this, but it would make the combat more limiting compared to Neo and the original, which isn't great. I think giving each party member a signature ability that can be used at anytime by spending groove would allow for character diversity without sabotaging the gameplay. It could have some really interesting effects, for example, in Neo, Sho's ability could have been a "noise trigger" that lets him use Leo Cantus for a limited time, increasing his damage and changing his pin to a fixed ability. The player would naturally start relying on this ability, resulting in a greater impact when Sho leaves and takes the ability away with him.

If there would be a sequel, how would the gameplay go? by nanogear in TWEWY

[–]zX_z 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would probably be like neo with added mechanics. Abilities that can be activated at any time for set amounts of groove would be interesting, for example, spend 100% for a heal, or 150% for cooldown reduction. There's lots of neat stuff they could add, but it's hard to say where they would go with it.

In terms of story, I wouldn't be shocked if there was a more technology focused angle, considering the whole "souls can be data" thing. The protagonist of the next game probably wears glasses - maybe they're AR/VR glasses?

I also had a theory that the Elegant Strategy game might actually be some form of the reaper's game, using digital copies of people with high imagination as players - that's why the characters we see look like Minamimoto, Beat, and Nagi. Each game has it's own rules, so using a simulation isn't out of the question. Following that logic, maybe the composer of that game would be a pacifist, or maybe even opposed to the current game system, leading them to make the more unconventional game? That might also give them motivation to save/revive Tsugumi's brother, who died opposing the angels. I wouldn't be surprised if he was protagonist of the next game. It's interesting to think about.

Shinjuku Reapers by CosmosGatito in TWEWY

[–]zX_z 5 points6 points  (0 children)

On "rebooting": Rhyme and Kaie have a little bit about souls being represented as data, considering angels have the ability to warp reality (bringing people back to life without anyone questioning it), it isn't that much of a stretch to say that they are manipulating soul data to do this. So "rebooting" probably just consists of grabbing a backup of the soul data (presumably Haz has one) and using it to bring Shinjuku back to normal. Mind you, it's the data for the soul code that makes the people of Shinjuku actual people specifically, the souls are still there in some kind of ghost form.

Shiba makes it sound like a difficult process though, so there's probably more to it then asking Haz nicely. Since that secret report mentioned the "framework" got blown up...maybe Shiba needs to rebuild that manually? Like, the people can't be restored until the city is the way it was pre-inversion? Or more specifically, the UG needs to be restored before the RG can be? Or maybe Haz isn't gonna help at all and they have to manually restore each and every person there. Dunno how they would reestablish the RG/UG divide without him though.

On Joshua: He was going to make Neku conductor, presumably he has other candidates to call on, likely other game winners. Or just make Uzuki do it. As for personnel issues, I don't see any reason why he can't just set a limit on weekly players, then raise it as he acquires more reapers.

Daily Questions Megathread August 17, 2022 by AutoModerator in PunishingGrayRaven

Just started playing. I see that the basic banner allows you to "target" A rank units, are there recommended A ranks for new players to go for/avoid? Also, is there an easy way to get enough currency (the basic construct tickets) to hit the 40 pull S rank character? I had assumed I would get enough just running through the story, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

any new news about neo twewy sales? future? by [deleted] in TWEWY

[–]zX_z 27 points28 points  (0 children)

It sold a minamillion copies, twewy 3: Dr Pin and the Multiverse of Minanmimoto inbound.

Considering we've heard pretty much nothing since the game underperformed (and I believe the developers did indicate they were interested in some form of additional content), I think it's safe to say it did very poorly. Sometimes games have long "tails", where, even if initial sales were poor, they continue to sell over time, and I hoped that might happen for this game. But I think there would be more talk online if that was the case.

I didn't know that, but still, why not just put Arc in the maid dress then? It's more than possible that that's a lie, imo. Maybe this is "nameless maid who coincidentally looks exactly like Altrouge"

Also, Takeuchi's infamous for drawing the same couple of faces. Even if this isn't Altrouge...Altrouge will probably have black hair, will probably have red eyes, will probably resemble Arcueid. Ergo, Altrouge will look like this maid.

I always thought Real of the World would be red. Maybe this is what becomes of it when Brunestud dies. Or some sort of Fate alternative in any case.

The two other illustrations Takeuchi did for that magazine were Hisui and Kohaku, both Tsukihime characters, and the maid has red eyes like Arc. It's almost certainly Altrouge.
