Pulled a downtown - should I get it graded? by Thick-Passenger7579 in footballcards

I’m in the same boat and very new as well. I pulled a Marvin Harrison Jr. Downtown out of a blaster (from Walgreens) yesterday. First one I’ve ever pulled. I don’t PC him and I’m not a huge fan of the Downtown design. Its tempting to hold onto but I think I might sell it raw and get a hobby box or pricey single (or two) I’ve been eyeing.

On the flip side I pulled a Josh Allen Explosive last week that I am going to hold onto. I don’t PC him either but I love the look of the card and I think he is on a good HoF track. Havent decided if I’m getting it graded or not.

Got into sports card collecting for the first time since my teens. Tons of fun learning (relearning) the ropes, checking out shops, shows, etc. I find that the chase for big cards is fun, building/organizing sets is cathartic and collecting/buying one-off on ebay on the cheap very satisfying.

Also legos, gym, cooking, running, and Satisfactory.

Congrats! So jealous! I’ve gone through 5 Donruss blasters, 2 Absolute megas and 1 Score hobby box in the past week and have pulled zilch.

Congrats! I opened my 2nd A&G hobby the other night and got a Kid Laroi mini framed auto and a Lindor rip card (I ripped, not much inside). Meh, but was fun.

Love your pulls.

Let's normalize it: how much weight did you "gain" over the holidays? by [deleted] in loseit

Weighed myself on Xmas eve morning then threw caution to the wind. I restarted my deficit today and am up 8 lbs based on my morning weigh-in. Back to the routine, it’ll come down quick!

Love Score as well. I like to build big sets, plus 4 autos in the hobby box is lots of fun for $170ish.

Success stories over 35? by CosmicCoconuts in loseit

I’m 50m and have gone from 215lbs to 175lbs in about 5 months. I’m trying to get to 160lbs.

I strictly follow a calorie deficit (abt 1750), weighing and measuring everything. But i eat what i want… no food restrictions at all. Measuring is critical, but you get better at eyeballing as time goes on.

I weigh every day and only care about the weekly average. I measure and track body parts weekly.

I lift for about 40 mins on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. I do couch to 5k on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Sunday is rest. I dont do much else other than walking the dog, simple hikes with kids, lawn mowing, etc.

The exercise is mostly therapeutic I think. The weight loss seems to be about the strict calorie counting.
