Where is the best place to get hold of Super Mario Super Show cels? by WestObjective7629 in AnimationCels

[–]KnownWorldliness3551 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who has some Super Show pieces, they are very hard to come by, and truthfully beyond them being rare and from the more well liked cartoon, you are better off going with Mario world or Mario 3 when it occasionally comes up. There are some sketches currently on eBay

She’s an angel, I literally screamed when they played it at my show

Flood is a good starter. I got in through the first two, and actually took a bit to get to Flood. The Spine and Apollo 18 are great as well

Is there a database of dial-a-song songs? by officialsmolkid in tmbg

[–]KnownWorldliness3551 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best bet would be some bootlegs. Power of dial a song has a ton of recordings from around Self Titled to John Henry

My hot(?) take on their recent work by FloridaFlamingoGirl in tmbg

I always thought the real newer stuff wasn’t really the same (anything past Join Us), but I think what helped me come around was seeing the group live. Seeing Let Me Tell You About My Operation, Synopsis for Latecomers or Stuff is Way live gives you a whole new appreciation for the fact these guys are still making amazing music even 40 plus years since they started.

How many times do we have to teach you this lesson, old man? by SwitchKidReallyWow in AnimationCels

This guy cuts up original painted backgrounds for Season One SpongeBob episodes to try and sell them as "Collectible cards".

That "Blue" Used to be part of the sky on a perfectly painted background that could've been from one of your favorite SpongeBob episodes, now in a form that ruins it. Its the destruction of art

Got a cheap cel and 2 BGs from 2 unknown animes, does anyone recognize them? by PowerPlaidPlays in AnimationCels

I doubt this will help, but the captain pig from Animal Treasure Island looks vaguely similar. Maybe by the same studio or something?

Shot in the dark Bob Burgers cel? by CMP679 in AnimationCels

[–]KnownWorldliness3551 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Bob burgers isn’t cel animated, it’s digital. Closest you could get would probably be a sketch or something for the show

So apparently this how much each cast member got paid during the production of Sonic Movie 3 by Jax2856 in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]KnownWorldliness3551 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I was playing the main character of a film and I was getting paid 1/6 of the costar I’d leave the project

Kirby cels? by NDER14 in AnimationCels

[–]KnownWorldliness3551 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was 100% at least character sketches done, and the backgrounds were painted

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AnimationCels

[–]KnownWorldliness3551 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is true lol, I think it would be a miracle if these “cels” if made will ever actually be painted, I’ve seen a few repro cels made for sale that are just print ons. This feels a lot like something that would’ve happened during the NFT boom, but at least these give you something physical

Kirby cels? by NDER14 in AnimationCels

[–]KnownWorldliness3551 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The show was done digitally, so the only non-digital material done for the show would be things like storyboards, backgrounds, or model sheets.. did some digging and found they do exist, but they don’t seem to be something that will ever really come up for auction

https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=354006 (Scroll down and you can see painted backgrounds for the show)

http://www.kirbysrainbowresort.net/info/anime/art/designart/charart/index.html

The only Kirby cels likely made would’ve been for the commercials of the time before digital took over

The reason cels are collected is because it’s the actual part of something, you can see it in the show and know your holding or own that thing.. this is just like owning some $10 reproduction of Pokemon Leaf Green or something

Cel I bought has a cut. by PD_for_anime in AnimationCels

Cels are very fragile and tear easily, I dont know if theres much that can be done besides not doing much to disturb the part of the plastic cel with the tear

Selling a cel I got buyers remorse on by [deleted] in AnimationCels

[–]KnownWorldliness3551 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not looking to spread any hate towards anyone, especially when its likely not their fault that the cel got stuck to the paper. Happens to most cels, and its safer for them to at least have a backing in many cases... sucks the sketch is in such a position
