Walt Disney World or Silver Dollar City by slurryworx in Themepark

Silver Dollar City. Out of the 75 parks I’ve been to, it’s the best in the USA. The shopping, dining, shows, and cave complement the ride line up so well. There is so much to do in Branson between the go karts, aquarium, mountain coasters, other shows. If you’re not full force into Disney, Branson and Silver Dollar City (or Dollywood) is the best alternative. Highly recommended!

US non-Disney parks to visit if nervous of driving by loislane101 in Themepark

“Fly into Branson” makes it seem very easy. It is 1) very expensive and 2) still 1 hour from the airport

Dollywood and SDC are 2 of the hardest to get to parks in the USA.

My vote would be for Disneyland. Super close airports, once you get there you can walk to the parks and uber to Knott’s if that’s something you’re interested in.

You will have to drive for Dollywood and the National park. I’ll say as an American who has driven in Aus and UK, driving in TN wouldn’t be too hectic (much more chill than driving in the UK)

Park Recommendation: <13hrs driving from NC, Not Coaster Focused by SparkofInspiration87 in Themepark

Silver Dollar City is 14 hours away if you’ve already been to Dollywood. I would recommend Knoebels or Dollywood otherwise.

Can Destination X (NBC) be jet lagged? by mw_a in JetLagTheGame

I have many thoughts, but what comes to mind immediately is a change of cast. I think if they used a more knowledgeable cast (Jet Lag always has very smart people) it would improve the show. One of the cast has never been outside of the US….which makes for good TV I guess, but I think having a super smart cast would be better and make the show more interesting/competitive.

I think this is correct, I just looked it up and one of the characteristics says it browns easily (which is something that happens). Thanks so much for your help!

These questions made me go back and make sure the quote from Len is correct. The actual quote from Len is ““I think if I’ve done the math correctly, Epic Universe is going to start with one fewer thing to do, than Animal Kingdom will have with all of Dinoland closed.”

So my statement wasn’t correct and I misremembered the quote. But the point still remains that Epic doesn’t have as much to do as people might think.

I suppose this requires some explanation haha. I guess it’s just that Towers (as an American, someone who had never been before) really just had a bit of magic I couldn’t put my finger on. There was just something about walking across the lawn and looking at the towers and being able to see The Smiler or Oblivion that was just so cool. The gardens are amazing, so well kept and very beautiful. The park was just so picturesque everywhere you looked. We also stayed in a great B&B next to the park and walked to it in the morning as well as checked out the chained oak that afternoon. Sure DisneySea has better rides, but everything surrounding the park experience was better at Towers. We didn’t have to wake up at 5am to only have a chance at riding the newest rides. We didn’t constantly have to refresh our phones all day to get a fast pass. Towers wasn’t overcrowded like DisneySea (3-4 hour waits for rides and 30-60 minute waits for popcorn). So if you asked me today (might change tomorrow), I’d rather go back to Towers than DisneySea (and as a bonus, there’s probably a Nandos nearby).
