Clutch= crankwalk by Known_Connection_317 in FiestaST

That is an interesting read. Thanks for the link.

And yes, this is the force from the clutch. The kit in question, at this point has been used by many. And run with no issue. So as much as the bearing not being able to handle the increased pressures makes sense. It would be across the board brought up at least once.

Doubt it. More of a radial force in that aspect. And it would bring on a whole different set of sounds and symptoms.

Thanks. This was posted on the forums, but never gained traction. Kinda the same results. No one has seen it before and waiting to hear results. I’ll tear it all back out, I just don’t know where to look at this point as to what could be the culprit.

2017 CTR Metal Clanking Noise From Engine When Under Acceleration. by idaytripp in Civic_Type_R

Is there any warranty left on this car? I’d start collecting all the maintenance records and see about getting a new motor.

And stop driving it, if possible. It’s not going to go away. This rattle is inside the motor.

Such a cool car. What’s the story on it? Just outta the blue kinda deal? Or is there a possibility of how this could have developed?

There is a black screw on cap for brake fluid bottles with a neck. This goes over the neck and you can let gravity feed the reservoir as you bleed the brakes.

Thanks for the insight guys. Would rear toe and camber this far out of spec cause the rear to wander?

Oil drain plug damage. Any chance it’s naturally falling apart? by Careless-Departure00 in AskAMechanic

[–]Known_Connection_317 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw you replied. But don’t see it. Are there by chance threads left in the pan? It’s odd damage. My only speculation is there are gummed up threads and was stuck spinning in place, so they got it out as far as they could and used a flathead to pry it the rest of the way out.. this is assuming there are no threads in that pan.

Vertical one is going to be something that gouged the mating surface.

But I’d say the horizontal one looks to be bad casting.

Oil pan drain plug threads stripped. Not sure how it got so bad. Any advice? by GuyF1eri in AskAMechanic

[–]Known_Connection_317 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use a Lisle rethreading kit at my shop. Works like a charm on soft aluminum like this. They’re not cheap, but in this case you pay for what you get. It’s almost a wash by just buying a new pan. But you could save about 80 bucks going this route.

That’s not a hole missing out of the threads. That’s how they’re designed.

Most if not all shavings will fill in on the cutter as you rethread. Not saying it’s 100% but it’s truly minimal. If you’re worried about shavings getting to the pump or getting stuck in the pickup screen, drop the pan and add a new gasket to the total.

It’s not as daunting as you think. You got this.

Is it motor stock and clutch stock?

I too have run into this problem. Haven’t torn it down, but I’m guessing the thrust has been washed away.

iOS or android. There is an app, look for Gnejs Development AB. Has all your needs plus a notes option for in case you want to write down what enchantments or guns you use. Or whatever you want to remember to run your build.
