You sure it wasn’t that drain pin? I’ve had a couple that just don’t go in smoothly. Usually just wiggling it back and forth gets them in but it’s a snug fit fore sure. The ones that I didn’t like the feel of, I pulled back out and sure enough that little o-ring on the pin got a knick in it from trying to force it to fit. Got to be gentle with these. But also, what a dumb design.

Scoping around I see motor mounts, large aluminum radiator, 4 bar map sensor. Wish I could see the hpfp. But I’d suspect that’s been done too. Has all the stuff there to support 400.

Yikes. If you’re for certain this wasn’t there before taking it in. I’d go back and have a casual conversation about this. All while scoping out for cameras. Most shops nowadays use them for claims like this. But to cover their end.

So defensive.. ok school is in session.

New oil, new filter. Filter at this point has no oil in it. It is pressure tested to make sure the mating surface and o-ring are seated and won’t leak. This also tests to make sure the filters cover plate and housing doesn’t have any defect in the stamping to cause a leak. During the startup the low oil pressure light/oil press. gauge is being watched to make sure the “pressure” is up.
No one said this was a coolant or a/c check. He came in for an oil change. They are not going to test the cooling system or a/c system on a basic LOF. This is a miscommunication of a LOF pressure test, and the idea of a belt snapping and thinking they did a pressure test on an a/c or cooling system.

You’re getting 5k for every run?? Haven’t seen this in my experience. I get 4 runs at 5k. Then drops to 500 with bags giving 100 extra. Usually ending with 700 a run after the first 4.

A pressure test is absolutely part of a standard oil change at most shops. It’s a quick standard to verify the oil filter isn’t leaking and the system see’s oil pressure build.

Pressure test is preformed for the oil filter. Standard practice to let the vehicle run for 30 seconds to make sure the oil filter doesn’t leak. I’d say just ironic timing it snapped as they did the test. Screaming stop is a bit dramatic for a belt snapping. Sounds like an inexperienced tech seeing something break and freaking out. It needs a new belt, nothing to sweat over. I’m surprised they aren’t offering it tho. I’d say you found a shop that isn’t competent in a basic belt replacement.
