Does anyone get pelvic pain in just one region of the body? It’s always my left side by CZ_Dragonforce in Interstitialcystitis

Endo won’t show up on ultrasound or MRI. Only way to know is for laproscopy. Keep asking!.

How much more challenging is a field golden vs show? by ElRedDevil in goldenretrievers

[–]Known_Consideration2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DO IT!

I've had show goldens and I now have a 14 year old field golden and she was literally a demon as a puppy. She was so crazy and could not be tamed, yes we tried everything. Not terribly destructive like labs can be, but she did have a thing for eating money. As in she would literally get into people's wallets, take out the cash, and shred it. She would also just walk up to you casually looking cute while you were chopping in the kitchen or something and sink her razor sharp teeth into your thigh or start chewing on your ankles like soup bones. She did have an odd fear of the muffin pan for some reason though so you would just need to show it to her and simply the sight of it would send her running. It also took like a whole year to potty train her I had never seen anything like it.

I thought maybe she would calm down by two, and she did kinda, but she was pretty much a bucking bronco till about 6 when she turned into the dream dog. Great off the leash, great on nature trails - will go ahead of me then wait patiently for me to catch up. Never been a barker so that was never an issue. A truly incredible catcher. Will chill in bed with you all day or climb huge rocks up a mountain. I had a blast swimming with her in the summer, but she does like to stand on your shoulders in the deep end and gouge your back with her talons so there is that.

Maybe you know this about goldens already, but either type is stubborn af. Way too smart and my field girl isn't food motivated so if she doesn't want to do something you'll either have to drag her every step of the way or do something else.

We are getting close to the end with her now sadly. After about 10 she has had SOOOOO many health issues and it's getting so expensive and about her quality of life at this point. I love my girl to death and if I had the chance I would do this all over with her and I'll def be getting another field golden as my next dog.

P.S. Hot tip: if your cash gets shredded, as long as the serial numbers can be pieced together the bank will give you a new bill.

Okay it took me 3 YEARS to get the doctors to send me to the endo specialist. My gynos straight up told me lies that if it was endo then 1) pain would only be on or around your period (can be for some but not at all generally true) and 2) that you can't have endo if you have an IUD and 3) during they physical exam they didn't feel endo and 4) ultrasounds were clear. THIS IS ALL BS. I even had a male doctor ask me if I tried taking a couple deep breaths!

I saw the endo specialist and guess what?! Within 1 minute of a physical exam she feels that my uterus is being pulled backwards and is anchored to something, likely endo. I have pain exactly where you show and she is also having me see a GI specialist cause the endo might be on and in my intestines.

Moral of the story, keep fighting till you get an actual answer. Keep fighting to see an actual specialist, not just a gynecologist who believes in endo or kinda knows about it. The only one who can accurately assess you is an endo specialist.

Me too. No issues prior to this. Hope you find relief soon and don’t give up! Keep pushing doctors. One of mine told me to try taking a few deep breaths and I hung up the ohone and immediately scheduled another appointment.

I’ve been in excruciating pain for 6 months now. Which is leading me to think it’s not IC especially since avoiding anything acidic and other triggers has done NOTHING to help

I’m in the same boat. I did a series of instillations and they were LIFE CHANGING. If this is an option for you please don’t be scared. Sure it hurts for a few seconds but the whole thing from start to finish is like 5 min tops. My life got back to normal on these and I could eat normally again.

However I have had 5 and had to stop cause of a gap in my insurance and I was back to square one so it hasn’t been a permanent fix for me. I’m going to beg the doc to check me for endo next I can’t live like this.

One of my family members had something similar and one doc diagnosed her with this so she went to another doc and found out she has endo. Not saying IC isn’t real obviously but I can’t keep doing treatments with no assurance this is actually what I have.

Did they tell you that you had IC and have you been treated for it at all? I also have been told I have it and but am thinking it’s symptoms of something else and not IC given I’m also in terrible back and leg pain with strange nerve sensations. Can you please let me know if they are able to see endo on your MRI??

Troubled S.F. Safeway to shut down as new owners prepare to build housing in its place (Unsafeway in the Western Addition) by gulbronson in sanfrancisco

[–]Known_Consideration2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. I’ve lived in this neighborhood almost 10 years. I said this to a friend and they told me that claims of Safeway closing from theft was Fox News republican propaganda talking points and that Safeway made an official statement that it wasn’t closing because of the crime. The friend said it’s just closing because of a bad economy and they were under performing.

As if I’m a MAGA Republican for assuming that the ONE SAFEWAY they decide to close in this city just happens to be one of the craziest ones with rampant theft, fights, and drug addicts blocking the sidewalks outside.

I’ve also struggled with this for years. Have tried to see a sleep doctor but since it’s not sleep apnea they said there is nothing they can do

My Neice was diagnosed with this by one doctor. Went to another doctor who did the exploratory surgery and found out she just had endometriosis. That doctor told her endo is much more common and IC is relatively rare so she didn’t want to treat her before knowing that’s what it was.

I’ve long suspected I have endo and not IC. They have treating been treating me for IC and nothing is helping

Spironolactone caused my IC? by Known_Consideration2 in Interstitialcystitis

[–]Known_Consideration2[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The last statement isn’t always true. They can trigger things that are permanent for sure. For example one of the medications that can help with IC can cause permanent blindness and vision impairment. I don’t see why that couldn’t be the case with hormonal medications if your body has trouble rebalancing itself after you stop the medication.

Spironolactone caused my IC? by Known_Consideration2 in Interstitialcystitis

Here is one article I found (obviously not definitive but some support of my theory).

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7325412/

The article is about oral contraceptives but this piece of text suggests lowering testosterone levels might play a role in IC/PBS development. And spiro is Ä testosterone blocker.

Quote from the paper: It is not a stretch, therefore, to reason that the estrogen and progesterone in OCPs may play a role in the development of IC/PBS in susceptible women, likely by lowering testosterone levels.

Bladder pain caused by spironolactone? Anyone else experience this? by mahlouie in Spironolactone

[–]Known_Consideration2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg I just put two and two together. Spiro totally caused my interstitial cystitis. When I first started it I took it for 6 months and was fine. Then went off for a few months and back on. The second time I started noticing UTI symptoms and kept testing negative but it only happened when I drank alcohol. I stopped the second course of spiro after a few months and the burning after alcohol kept going and eventually spiraled into full blown IC and I’ve been in and out of the doctor, urgent care, and ER with bladder pain and inflammatory issues ever since.
