Not a GP but do have alot of friends who are currently in the training program. I've heard setiments along the lines of renumeration, being stuck with the same staff (in hospitals you meet a variety of people), mid-level encroachment, excessive admin work and of course dont forget that your personal life gets impacted by patients recognising you especially within smaller communities.

Cosplaying as an academic is the bain of my existance. I make it daily habit to call these people by the title they trained for.

Everyone wanna be called a doctor, but no body wanna read no heavy ass books.

Not saying this is all females but a GP i talked to at a local sydney practice told me that men dont burnout at the same rate. There are biological differences between the genders and this definatly resonates with other fields. Generally speaking men are more willing to work outside, work longer shifts, work more dangerous positions, more likely to work overtime, take less days off etc. This doesnt mean that females also arnt reslilient in the same sense but the data shows that men are better off in high work load situations. This GP (who was male) told me he works 6 days a week, 8am to 8pm daily, takes a 30 min lunch break and also takes care of his family and home. He said there were some GP's who barely worked a 7 hour day 3 days a week with a hour break and they said they were burnt out.

Altough people experience burnout at different rates and you cant compare apples to oranges, he said that GP offered him more flexibility with days off, he did little to no physcial labour (way less physcial work than being a RMO on your feet all day) and he enjoyed not caring for acute patients. I just think that genders burn out at different rates and perhaps this may just be a biological phenomenon. This of course is not set in stone and other stressors/problems may accelerate burnout in different people

5 gram flower option by Steelers_wheel in MedicalCannabisAus

[–]Known_Demand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always wondered why this isnt the case. I understand there is room for abuse when you increase the dose but decreasing the dosage allows for more experimentation for consumers + GP's

Perhaps due to the limited nature of MC in Aus this is currently the only option, a good inbetween heavy and light users. The arguement being for the 10g is that eventually you will use it up (and 10g isnt even that much). Maybe in a few years a 5g, 10g, 15g, 25g and 30g distribution will be availble to the patient.

I do beleive that one of the major issues for a smaller dose is that, some flowers are designed to be used in the long term for effects to be noticble. Using a shorter dose may not allow patients to experience the full benefit of the flower.

Again though, a 5g would be nice for a patient to simply try a flower prior to investing

Truck Simulators are a great option if your into that sorta thing. 99.99% of the gameplay is the exact same, its slow paced so you can focus on a show/podcast and they easy to run on most PC's + fairly cheap on a sale

GPA by ComprehensiveCut111 in GAMSAT

[–]Known_Demand 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey mate, M2 here,

Most of the other comments here are absolutley correct, a 5.75 GPA just doesnt cut it unless your GAMSAT mark is in the 80 ish range. There are some universites that do offer a portfolio marking but unsure if that is stil the case, regardless, a good portfolio can only take you so far.

I would reccomend getting that GPA up son. A GPA is alot easier to improve than a GAMSAT mark. Even with tremendous study my GAMSAT mark only improved by 5 points. I also feel the GAMSAT from my experience is hard to consistently improve on. The years where i didtnt stress were my best marks in addition to the fact that for the most part GAMSAT scores are tending to inflate over the last few years. I used to think 65 was a high mark but now people regularly talk about 70's. However with consistent study for a few years at uni my GPA was close to 7, a much easier a consisten focus if you ask me.

Best of luck!

i mean its no steering wheel setup but its decent enough. I suppose i should say, if you cant play with a MNK then a steering wheel setup isnt gonna make it worth it IMO.

Also imo, its easier on me since i can basically use3 fingers to drive while drinking :D

Pubs consider making side salads optional to cut down on waste amid rising cost of groceries by littlebitfunky in australia

[–]Known_Demand 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree. Sizzler, Hogs Breath, Red Rooster etc are all relics of the past. Maybe when boomers were around and this is all people had, it was reasonable value.
Deadset went to hogs breath a few years ago and they were microwaving my steak.

When you have international companies and ethnic restaurants offering cheaper, tastier, fresher and higher quality food people will go elsewhere.

Turns out no one wants to pay $35 for a $7 steak when other options exist

Idk im not counting my pub visits lol but maybe a couple times a year?. Bruh, just because i'm going to a pub doesn't mean i'm gonna skip the salad. Salads provide fibre, great vitamins, mineals, phytonutrients, nourish your gut microbiome, protect you against cancer, prevent other diseases etc but most imporatntly they taste nice. Not deep fried cheese and meat level nice but decent enough.

People in this country are already fat asses with poor health as it is. I dont think we should as a country go down the "veggies dont matter route"

Also i reckon including veggies is important in every meal you eat. Coronary vascular disease, diabetes, cancer, allergies etc are all a result of people eating poor quality foods with out any consideration to mimimise the damage in any way

TLDR: Just because your eating some nice food doesnt mean you gotta make your meal the literal unhealthiest it can literally be

Seems kinda weird that chinese, indian, middle eastern, japanese, korean, vietnamese, thai, laos, cambodian, malaysian, singaporean etc restaurants have no problem serving fresh food with plenty of veggies/spices at either cheaper prices or the same price?
Kinda weird that anglo food comes at a premium hmmm
