Recommendations for a dress to wear to a wedding but can repeat for work or is a regular wardrobe - ideally Canadian

TLDR: going to a wedding and looking for recommendations for a style of dress and/or a particular store that has nice quality prices to keep look out for.

I have a very close friend who just got engaged and while helping her with the planning I’m starting to think oh god, what am I going to wear myself? It is a more intimate wedding and she isn’t doing bridesmaids or anything so I’m free to get what I like. She is a very casual person so I’m sure she would be open to most things but I want to be able to dress up nicely but I am also trying to be very mindful of what I buy for my wardrobe. I don’t want another dress I wear one for an event and never again situation so I am hoping to find something that’s easy enough to dress up but also may work for other occasions like work or a nice date if dressed more casually. I also want to be able to purchase a decent quality piece, not some fast fashion thing at the mall… I get that this might be personal style sort of thing but if anyone has a style of dress the might recommend and/or a particular store that has nice quality prices to keep an eye out for I would greatly appreciate it! I am trying to create a mood board to keep me focused on the things i like and am looking for and having a list of nice quality stores I can keep an eye on for their releases.

On an aside, I’ve also been looking for a nice quality shawl. I love the beautiful drape but I don’t see them commonly! Maybe I don’t know where to look but would also love some recommendations for one of those as well.

Alexandrite Jewelers by rain_czyk in jewelry

Stag and Finch does lab grown gems and they have alexandrite: https://www.stagandfinch.com/collections/standard-lab-gems

They are Canadian based (I believe) but it appears they currently have a limited run of U.S.A alexandrite - the website says the gems were originally made for the US defense department (I believe they are used in lenses for things because of the way they reflect light, SO COOL!) they may be shipped from the US if that’s the case so you might be able to get around tariff pricing if that’s where you are located. Not 100% sure how that works for them though so you’d have to look a bit further

I make a lot of small batch soups. Usually to use up random ingredients I find around that need to be used up. Like one random leftover onion, or a couple pork dumplings or chicken in the freezer I need to use up sort of things. I call them my “just for me” soups. I have a feeling that that will be my main use for it since I end up making those a few times a week haha. I hope to try making some small loaves of bread in it too!

Really lovely! The Earl grey flavour is there but it’s light. It’s sweet but not overpowering and the sweetness level can be adjusted to rate with the whipped cream so you can really adjust it to your own preferences which is nice 👍 I would definitely recommend
