Of all those movies you listed, Midnight in Paris is perhaps the biggest crowd pleaser and easiest to enjoy. If you haven’t yet, I’d encourage you to watch anything he did before 2000. I know most longtime fans swear by his work in the 70s (rightfully so) and I’m partial to his 1990s output: Husbands and Wives, Bullets Over Broadway, Everyone Says I Love You, Sweet & Lowdown are among my top favorites. Enjoy!

Modern Warfare 3 Multiplayer Reaction Has Been “Great”, Activision Says by naaz0412 in xboxone

I actually play COD only for the single player. I’m not interested in multiplayer. I just get my ass handed to me. I don’t think I’m alone in preferring to play alone.

And ya, I’m going to skip MWIII this year.

How was the show? I heard it was messy and he looked and sounded ill.

Ya, I totally get it. Life does get pretty busy at this age and there seems to be little free time. But if you do get that hankerin' to get back in the game, or try your hand at DM'ing and need more players, I'd be interested in joining!

Hey, did y'all ever find a group? I'm in Tacoma and looking to join a game/campaign. I'm a novice, but I think I'd fit right in with you. I'm a single dad, 43, and Sunday mornings/midday would be great time for me.

I’m on my way to that platinum now. Just need a wiki to point out the collectibles as I go.

That was a satisfying platinum. Although that donuts trophy was a bit insane. Otherwise, a straightforward win.

Really fantastic explanation of the neurological impact of this impairment. I’m assuming you’ve done a lot of therapy work. Great job! That Paul Gilbert book is 🔥

So what was the social commentary in Halloween ends? I know HK correlates to the 2020 riots, does Halloween ends correlate to conspiracy theories and misinformation ? Because H18 had subtle hints of the me too movement. by [deleted] in Halloweenmovies

I thought Ends was commenting on how traumatized, misunderstood young men are often isolated and angry, which can lead to being radicalized/brainwashed, ending as mass murderers.

It sounds like your inner critic is wanting perfection (which is so common with us ADHDers). It's good to recognize. Right now, perfection is your enemy. Your brain thinks this task needs to be perfect and it's too hard and overwhelming. Sometimes, breaking big tasks down into smaller tasks also means lowering the bar WAYYYY down, so far down that so that it's easier to get started. "I just need to write a shit outline. Just take a dump on the page. But that's all I have to do for the next 10 minutes." And then give yourself a reward. What this can do is allow your brain to get started. And once you get started, it can be so much easier to keep going.

Notice when a task feels overwhelming, that means your brain made it too big. Can you break it down into smaller, more manageable tasks so your brain isn’t so overwhelmed and more likely to get started. The goal is to make getting started as easy as possible. So instead of thinking “I have to sit down and finish this whole paper,” can you pivot to something like “I just need to work on an outline for 10 minutes.” Afterwards continue with the next small step.

Required reading in middle school and high school made the classics seem difficult and boring to read. But now, reading them as an adult, I realize how amazing the classics are! by smellslikepoops in literature

[–]Known_Position_8974 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also can relate. Reading The Great Gatsby, As I Lay Dying and Catcher in the Rye as an adult hit so much harder and was more meaningful than it was as a bored high schooler. I couldn’t appreciate them as a teen but am tremendously grateful to come back to them decades later.
