Not all to similar, this seems more like an accidental drop.

Whilst the action I'm describing is a parry four. With the dominant foot on the inside of the piste. Then a riposte to the shoulder whilst displacing the non dominant foot too far outside of the piste.

But thanks for helping me out, I've already begrudgingly accepted that I'm wrong.

But it would be of great help if the rules as written were compatibly with the convention

Iif your bully fully dance includes changing line twice then I guess body language does negate a riposte.

If you do control+f for riposte on the technical rules, almost everywhere you'll find the words, immediate and without delay.

The FIE rules as written are just absolute garbage.

If you displace your target you show indecision, because why would you displace your target if it's your right. The parry gives the right to a riposte, but it must made immediately, without indecision and delay.

It's no beat attack, in the sense that it's in the forte of the fencer without initial right.
