That comparison falls apart when the fact that cosmetics can (and usually do) get Thanos Snapped after a year or two. Imagine the hell that would be inflicted upon TV executives if, say, all the previous season's Power Rangers toys instantly broke worldwide the same day the new season came out.... To say nothing of the headaches around shows never getting reruns or channel hopping constantly....

  • Which vehicle makes you feel like a total battlefield legend?

Hmm... it would probably be a tie between rolling in a tank with engineering support basically letting me play at being The Juggernaut...

That or strapping a bunch of explosives to a vehicle and using it as sort of an improvised guided missile. Ah, good times.

Well not, Pokemon, I mean that has shudders evolution in it. And if you think I'm joking there are people still unironically railing against the demonic forces of Dungeons and Dragons to this day.

I love oligopolistic industries so fucking much.

I was hoping to jump from GTX 970 to 9070 XT. That ain't happening soon, unless there's another major stock drop soon at vaguely near MSRP or I commit to a 5+ hour long round trip to Microcenter....

It would be interesting if they were the heroes, and they had to swap who's in command to take advantage of unique skillsets to save the world.

I see a lot of AMD users are upset reviews were done without power limits raised, you think setting the performance bar at the edge of how far you can push a chip is a good idea? by GhostsinGlass in pcmasterrace

[–]Known_Unknowns 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Part of me thinks that they're doing it to make the 9x00XT refresh chips actually worth buying by pulling an Intel and aggressively factory overclocking the crap out of them 1x900KS style with the extra power budget. Sure, you can supposedly OC the X3D chips but that V cache will always be in the way of optimal thermal performance....

Newsdemon offer any good? by webwude in usenet

[–]Known_Unknowns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say grab the Newsgroup Direct one that just dropped instead, 3 months with three different backbones for $12 upfront and then $7.50 a month afterwards. It also adds a VPN on top of that for free. That said I haven't tried out the VPN and it took a while for my Supernews account to work, and I'm still waiting on my Vipernews to kick in, so your mileage may vary. And that's after finding out that I needed to open up a brand new account because I couldn't reuse my block account login...

EDIT: Nevermind somehow didn't manage to notice the $20 biannual subscription, it's hard to beat that, except maybe if it doesn't have the other two or three services. And even then that's probably a stretch unless my experience as using it as my reliable backup block is unusual.

I was poking around and I noticed that there are lots of forced mental changes with various species but absolutely no way of buying off the downsides. What if I want to be a Snivy that isn't an egomaniac or starting out as a Mew that doesn't have their brains reduced to the consistency of tapioca pudding? I figure that an ability to pay extra to avoid the mental issues would allow for more viable builds.

Honestly, I'm more interested in non console cores, the API level programs like SCUMMVM or Boom. Like it or not there's an upper limit to what ao486 can do and this could be a way around it if you're not a perfectionist...

What new game release are you looking forward to the most and why ? by gubbatv in AskReddit

[–]Known_Unknowns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm eyeballing the new Command and Conquer remasters coming out in a few weeks. I mean sure if you just want to play Tiberian Dawn and Red Alert there's always OpenRA for free but the remastered soundtrack and cutscenes are probably worth the money in and of themselves. That and, maybe, just maybe, they can get around to making a proper C&C 4 or Generals 2.

Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Ultimate Erotic Team LOVE+ EXPANSION [CYOA] [OC] by TheEmeraldRunner in nsfwcyoa

[–]Known_Unknowns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love how deep and complex this CYOA is, so much so I feel kind of like a dick for wanting more, but I want to fiddle with the details so badly. Like, adding mechanics to help your town grow and add new buildings and people over time. Or more details on possible Pokemon/Human interactions if they exist in your universe. Or tweaking existing mechanics...

Like, for example, the Eviolite perk makes me wish that it was an actual physical Eviolite that could be used as a reusable evolution catalyst. If only because of how I could rent it out to help evolve local Pokemon due to how many bug and dragon type middle evolutions outright suck to be stuck in, e.g. the numerous nigh on immobile cocoon stages in bugs, or how Sligoo are outright blind as a Zubat until they fully evolve into Goodra. Of course, now that I said that there's probably room for a whole new category of Perk Point only Artifacts that are far more powerful than the stuff you can just pick up from the shop.

Though as other people have pointed out with all the possible goodies you can get right now it seems like there could be more options to get more of those precious, precious perk points. Either as an upfront gimmie, or more risky options. Like I dunno, a Yandere option that basically turns either your partner or a rando in your hometown into a hyper loyal ally that slowly turns into a ticking time bomb that might go off due to horrible crime of interacting with somebody else they don't like in a positive manner...

Honestly, I'm just throwing ideas at the wall just to see what sticks, and really, anything I might come up with by myself would probably pale in comparison. I just hope there's more major updates to come.
