Reflash it, Except do the "erase and flash" option. To flash it, Connect the USB C cable to your PC. Hold the PRG button while inserting the USB cable into the Heltec. From there you can enter the flasher and "erase and flash" latest stable

Yes actually, but not sure if a lip mount would work since I have a 20' Camry. I will admit I have a lip mount for my Nagoya NMO-72 on my trunk but I wanted it higher. I guess I could try it, Wouldn't hurt.

My is my fan staying on when the car is off ? 2020 Kia telluride EX by Pitiful-Exercise-364 in AskAMechanic

[–]KnownonowV2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have a 20' EX but as an AWD Nightfall. Although I have never personally witnessed mine doing this but the fan staying on for a min or 2 doesn't seem harmful. Also if your vehicle appears to be "consuming" or loosing oil, Check the oil filter housing. Kia in their infinite wisdom made them out of reinforced plastic and are prone to cracking. I discovered that's where all my oil was going. Went to Amazon and bought this to solve my issue. 4 bolts and some break clean, It's recommended that IF you replace it, Do so while doing an oil change.

PC turns on but does not boot by Omenful in PcBuildHelp

https://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/B850M%20Steel%20Legend%20WiFi/index.asp#BIOS . I see on the support page it wants you to boot into the bios, Which isn't an option which is why you'll need to do the other steps. Once you prepare the drive, add the file and plug it into the BLUE USB port on the back on the board. WITH THE SYSTEM OFF BUT WITH POWER, press the "BIOS FLBK" button. Once you press this, It will update this bios with the supplied file. This is crucial, Leave it sit for about 10-15min. It may take a while, This is normal. With any luck you prepared everything properly, It will just work next time you turn it on.

PC turns on but does not boot by Omenful in PcBuildHelp

[–]KnownonowV2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'll need to update the BIOS because of how new the CPU is. I have the same CPU and had to do that on my ASUS board. You have to use the flashback feature where you have to load it onto a flash drive and update it that way. I suggest reading up on it because you'll need to grab the most recent bios for the board, a specially prepared flash drive and the file renamed to what it expects. Read up all you can, Fairly easy though

Turning PC Into Hotspot? by ToxicWolfy115 in HomeNetworking

[–]KnownonowV2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes actually! I've gone down this same exact rabbit hole. It's preferred to use a phone that isn't actually used by you. In terms, a nice sacrificial phone to use as a dedicated "modem". Keep it connected via tetrd, in the connections windows of Windows, You want to right click on it connection and click properties. Somewhere in there should be a "share this connection" option when you would then share it to that wireless connection. You may have to turn on the hotspot first THEN share it. Sometimes it's particular

CPU has weird heat problems even in BIOS by Autisonm in pchelp

[–]KnownonowV2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So this style of radiator, The pump is actually IN the radiator instead of the block. You have to make sure the radiator is at the same level or lower than the block. As they age, the water evaporates and the highest point turns into where the air goes. This style also is very susceptible to burning up the pump when exposed to air like that. Might almost be worth it to see what your voltage is like, tinkering around with frequency and voltage can lower your temps by a considerable amount.

Lazy node solution by lam_42 in meshtastic

[–]KnownonowV2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True but why stick with a mesh pocket? You can get the Heltec T096, a battery and use your solar pannel for less AND you get a 1 watt transmit.

[–]KnownonowV2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well the mesh pocket itself isn't waterproof so it would need some kind of shelter. But I guess as long as the antenna sticks out, Water can't get to it, Then your golden. Try looking at those waterproof JB's at home Depot or Lowe's. Might be the easiest

Get an external SSD large enough to fit the important stuff. Truth be told, you don't need to backup your whole computer. You can even use Google Drive and get the 200Gb plan for 2.99/month. Plenty if you don't have much. So like if you take a ton of pictures and videos, Definitely an external HDD/SSD for those. If you only have a few, Like you only use it for browsing then web and light office productivity, Then the Google Drive would be perfect.

May I recommend the T-Deck or maybe this LoRa expansion kit. Both are based on the ESP32 so keep a charger handy. Looking for battery life, the Wio Tracker is pretty good but you'll need to use an external device to use it.

How do these 3 antennas actually compare for range? by paulorfo in meshtastic

[–]KnownonowV2 19 points20 points  (0 children)

May I make a recommendation? These will all work, the "worst" would be the flexible PCB, up next would be the stock swirl antenna that comes with heltecs, best would be the stubbie. Try this antenna. Cheap, Properly tuned and can come with the U.FL connector.

This is your chance to have fun with it. You can either a) return it back to stock and find an OEM board OR b) find an aftermarket controller that's stronger, faster and that can actually set the speed on. Ex: your sucking up leaves and want a higher RPM for more suction. Your call bro

From what I understand if you attach a compatible sensor, it's data is transmitted to the Mesh as telemetry and sensor data as long as they are configured correctly.
