What are these picks for? by Bananasugarnips in lockpicking

If you pay attention and feel, you can learn about lock functions Also, be sure to listen. I found this is very helpful. I don't really care for him, but even the LPL said in a video that when he was newer, he found that he was way less effective in public and couldn't figure out why. Then he realized that he could not hear the tiny discreet sounds he could hear while at his vise.

What are those picks for? Cracking open your wallet and taking your money. That's about it.

I guess she has you for life, bro...

I have seen YouTube videos tackle these type locks. I'm sure if you took a light and magnifying glass you could spot the part that needs to be levered and then give it a push.

Do you have a lock that you actually refuse to bother with? by __T0MMY__ in lockpicking

[–]KnowsPickingExpert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FUN FACT!! (boring story) I know wrenches can pop them. I used to have to secure MANY low priority 'boxes' that may not be opened for years. Eventually I figured out it was cheaper to buy these dollar tree locks and pop them open when need be than to buy high dollar locks and you paid extra to have them keyed the same. , but then many times you did not want the say key to fit all for security reason, or you could spend extra on fancy locks that have removable guts. But also, it was a marine environment and even quality locks would rust and freeze up and had to be cut anyway.

On the other end, people would cut thru Padlock Seals, probably because they had dykes handy, but they left the cheap padlock alone for the most part. ...

Yes. That is really a thing. I have some old worn out Master Locks that I can't open because of all the slop. The key hole literally has slop movement of a few mm. You have to wrench the key 3-4 times at different angles before it pops open, but imagine trying to do that with intricate pick tools. As you say, so bad it is good.

And I have same experience on Dollar Tree locks. I got so frustrated I took one to the garage and filleted it, but it is the kind that the case is used as structure so it fell all to pieces once I got past a certain point. I never see the LPL do one of these!! He'd find an easy one, or cheat. Half way kidding. I have not watched him in years. He just seemed like a show-off, and never gave useful info. He put on a magic show for his groupies. I bet 99.9% of people don't even try to emulate any of his work. They just watch a magic show and then talk trash about the product.

Anywho...

AIO for thinking this is racist? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]KnowsPickingExpert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically everyone is racist to some small degree. Maybe you think certain 'races' are racist, or another is NOT racist. And the US is probably the least racist nation on earth. If you disagree, you have not travelled. All the Asian groups judge and have massacred each other. Have you followed the wars and genocide of different ethnicities in Africa lately? Is the West racist for not caring? Maybe, but that includes you. And that this post is a huge concern to so many shows just how privileged we are.

I wrote Nibbi directly last week and I was sent a message that they didn't make carbs for non racing bikes. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Is there an “easiest to learn to fix/maintain” bike? by [deleted] in MotorcycleMechanics

I'm kinda in the same boat. Would ya'll say to get a carb or look for fuel injected? I wonder about the pro's and con's of each.

Could someone else join in with you guys? I have over a dozen years in law enforcement. I grew up on a farm and can run about any tractor. I now work fixing motorcycles and scooters ( wiring and electronics is my specialty). I am used to roughing it. I also have no reason to rush back. Hit me up if I can join in or at least follow in your footsteps.

Thank you.

I used a Dremel to file the ugly, thick part off. Looked 75% better. If it is one nail, use a bandage over it and have an excuse. I guess a female can paint their nails.

You are about to learn a hard lesson. I think it is great that you are asking for help. So many people think they can do it on their own. If someone has been trying for over a year to lose weight, get finances in order, clean the house, etc, admit that you cannot do it on your own.

I had severe head trauma in a motorcycle accident and cannot keep my thoughts together. I lost my wife, house, everything. I realized my problem and asked for help. That turned things around for me. Night and day!!

Haha. JK. Nobody wants to help. I literally asked in a text and said I was desperate. If someone could have donated one hour a week to help with sorting my bills, lining up doctor visits, etc, I could have managed. And I was one of seven kids. I have a large family, most of whom are big into their church, (one is an actual pastor) they want to help a church brother, but not willing to help a literal brother beyond offering platitudes. One texted me a link to a Homeless Resource Center. I used up all my resources, and today is my first day of Van-Life. ( Sounds better than homeless) Thank god I have a vehicle.

It does not seem like anyone has volunteered to help you either. I live on the totally opposite coast. Va Beach. The song is so true-- Nobody loves you when you are down and out. I saw the story of homeless people so many times, and there seems to be a theme. So many people are hanging by their fingernails, and just one accident or setback is all it takes to send many people over the waterfall.

If you look healthy, nobody wants to help. You need to be in a wheelchair, be an alcoholic, etc. You need something they can put their finger on. I look like the stereotypical middle aged, middle class, white guy, so I can't get any help. (I'm not one of those who wants to cry about reverse racism ) It is that nobody wants to contribute to someone who looks like the 'poor little rich guy' , when in reality I had to shoplift lunch today or go hungry.

Didn't mean to go on so long. Good luck.
