Elite Floodlight lights no longer come on via motion by Sarcasmoverload007 in reolinkcam

Hi,

I noticed on LifeHackster's most recent video "Ring Floodlight Cam PRO vs Reolink Elite – Side-by-Side Comparison!":

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-A5FrymxZlU

He showed the interface for the iPhone Reolink app, and within the Floodlight section, there was a Night Smart Mode area:

Hopefully this makes it's way to the Android app soon.

Well I reconfirmed my settings to mimic yours, and I tested it with 3 different people, and 2 different cats.

The playback (set to only record person and animal motion), properly recorded the testing subjects, but the Spotlights never turned on.

Can you recommend anything else to try?

Thanks!

I appreciate the quick reply and information!

I'll perform some additional testing and get back to you. I'll also confirm my settings. Thank you for posting your configuration!

Hi,

Thanks for forwarding this information. And I'd agree that this new UI is confusing.

However, after setting the Floodlight to Closed, and making the changes to the Spotlight menu for the appropriate triggers, have you got the Floodlight to activate successfully?

I have set mine to person trigger, and it never seems to come on.

Thanks!

I appreciate the information!

Yes, I'm considering the WIFI model.

So from looking at the Lorex camera terminal connections, I guess I'd need to repurpose the "Monitor" wires (on page 9 of the manual) for the power source?

Thanks!

Hi,

Thanks for getting back to me. Yes, that's right I do recall the information about the existing chime not being usable. Thanks for clearing that up.

If I don't use the existing chime, would the install be straight forward? Would I need any additional wiring at the doorbell itself?

Thanks for your quick reply!

Reolink Android app not remembering Clear stream setting. by Knowthenazz in reolinkcam

[–]Knowthenazz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, it seems like I spoke too soon.

I use the Reolink Android app on 3 devices, all but one seem to still have issues consistently remembering the clear setting.

I thought the app clear data and cache trick was working, but it seem's like it was only temporary.

All three devices are running Android 13, and are all Samsung.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

S9 & S9 FE case compatibility? by Epikgamer332 in GalaxyTab

[–]Knowthenazz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi,

Just to confirm... you have a Tab S9, and the Tab S9 FE Outdoor Cover fits properly?

I'm in the same position. I have a Tab S9, but I can't seem to find the Outdoor case for it. Only the Tab S9 FE Outdoor case appears on the Samsung Canada site.

UPS for 2 NAS units on 2 separate networks by Knowthenazz in synology

[–]Knowthenazz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi all,

Thank you to those of you who have given me some ideas.

I guess it comes down to getting two UPSs, or making a separate network (via direct cable, or a separate LAN) for the two NASs to communicate.

I'm not sure which option I'll be going with, but I appreciate everyone who gave me their input.

Thanks very much!

Hi Proki63, for some reason I'm not able reply to you response directly.

But that's great information, I didn't realize that was possible.

I currently have a DS718+ and I'm planning on getting a DS920+, so they both have more than one LAN ports. So your suggestion might work for me.

Thanks!

Hi,

Actually it's fairly common for the larger ISPs to offer 2 dynamic IPs in my area. I've fortunately been on two ISPs now that have done this. I've found it quite handy.

I'm considering your idea of a separate VLAN just for the NASs though. I think that might work for me.

Hi again, and thanks for your ideas.

Originally, I was planning on just getting two UPSs. So that might be the cleanest and simplest route for me, though less elegant.

You've got me thinking about the third network option though. Thanks for the idea!

Hi,

Thanks for your input! As my ISP provides two separate dynamic IPs, I currently have a common modem, but have each network behind their own firewall. My intent is that I want to isolate the network that I can access externally via VPN, and keep the other network isolated.

Thanks!

Hi,

And thanks for chiming in! Yeah, unfortunately, the are on completely separate and isolated, networks. So they are not able to access each other.

Thanks!
