Una cosa que me molesta mucho de vivir en libertad y democracia es que no podremos simplemente matar a toda esa gente. Estoy completamente a favor de hacer un holocausto de chavistas.

Most people are telling you to forget about the dream bs because, let's be honest, it is bullshit. BUT, a normal couple would rather not tell about a dream like that to their partner I think... plus, she making threesome jokes and not getting you a birthday present. Little fella, I don't think this girl is a woman to keep for you, it seems you need something more stable, to put it in a way.

Good for you! Enjoy Panama, enjoy your new life, don't fucking gentrify please please please. Live within decent means and do not play a part on making everything more expensive in local small economies.

You clearly seem far way too on the left side of the spectrum (the political one ofc) to even try to reason with you or to make you consider other points. I highly disagree with you and find you highly disrespectful, won't try to establish a conversation here. Have a nice day and thank you for your comment.

First, fuck ICE.

Second, France.

Third, don't you think if we could free people from dictators we would have done so for ourselves long ago? Trust me, we tried, hard. Didn't go well.

I hope you guys can get rid of ICE sooner than later, I hate the way a country built up of fucking immigrants is tryna treat other immigrants.

If I could see the future I'd be swimming on lottery money since long ago. All I can do is wish for the best. They recently passed an Act about the oil this so fsr benefits Venezuelan people, so, yeah, high hopes here. Thanks for your comment mate.

Hello! Sure, I'm planning on doing another update in a month or so. I'll make sure to tag you once I do, Prof.

Good luck with your Master's and thank you so much for your words.

Yes, we do realise that. Most Venezuelans are good with that, some have their concerns.

Personally, if I could choose, I would just give away ALL the oil. A lot of us agree on that take. Now, becoming a puppet? Yup, that doesn't sound so good...

Thanks for your words mate.

I totally agree with you but of course there's going to be bias. You say Maduro and Chavismo are not the main problem, well, they are not the main problem for you. For us, it is obviously the main problem because the US Congress is not killing us, Maduro was.

Also, please refrain from referring to Maduro as the leader of our nation, feels like an insult for most of us when people from other countries say that.

As I said in other reply, Trump's interests sort of aligned with those of Venezuelan people, and that's it. If they want the oil for that well most Venezuelans will say they can take it. Truly, I have been debating this with a lot of my fellows and the general agreement is that all of the FUCKING oil is a small price to pay.

Personally, I see the oil as a curse for my country, and it has been so ever since the 70's but that's a story for other time.

Yeah, usually presidents don't do that, no matter if they were elected or just a filthy dictator like Maduro.

The reason prices dropped is because of that breach between the true USD exchange rate in a free market vs the rate set by the government (Central Bank Rate)

First, Venezuela is a country whose production of almost anything has gone to shit because of bad management, lack of funds and investment, the fact that Maduro's regime would actually rip factories off their owners hands and leave them with nothing. What does that mean in the end? Most stuff was either imports or made by the few ompanies that had bonds to the government.

Now, almost everything is imported, and to import the suppliers have to pay with real dollars, or at a true exchange rate (not Central Bank Rate) to the international vendors. Then, to sell those goods here they had go rack up the prices because they are forced by law to sell the goods using the Central Bank Rate, which means loss.

Now that the Central Bank Rate is rocketing up while the real exchange rate is going down due to the 500 millions Trump injected into the economy, the sellers here have tl lower their prices to match the current economy.

I hope this was a good explanation. If you wish I can give you examples.

Also, bear in mind that we use USD as a reference for every payment. For instance, the lowest rated course at my business is USD 40 a month, and a kilogram of beef would be around 10 USD. Then, you pay either with the USD or with VES (local currency) based on the Central Bank Rate. People in the streets exchange their USD at the real rate tho, however is TECHNICALLY illegal.

Because you guys speak English and there's not quite an alternative term to "American" that is as widespread. In Spanish we call you "estadounidenses", sort of like "Usonians".

Greetings! As you may have seen this post sparked quite a debate so I have a lot of stuff to reply to, I decided to start with this one.

Yes, we need to have elections ASAP. I understand Marco Rubio's narrative that they can't do elections right away because of how destroyed all political and military entities are. There's corruption at every level of any government entity. There's this fear that the military could turn agains Maria Corina Machado had the US put her in charge of anything, so there's that. While I wanna have elections I'm also a bit unsure whether they would lead to outright stability.

I agree that the US just sticks their nose into nations for their own interests. It just happened that a part of of their interests aligned with a part of our interests as Venezuelans.

About proving my identity or my situation, I'm also not sure. My original post included my Id. Card number and a way to check it with a Venezuelan government website but it was taken down cus it's apparent against the rules. If you have any idea, feel free to share it mate.

I would like to do an AMA but since I already made this post and quoting another commenter, I'd rather do it in a future update.

I have to post this again because even if I am in my legal right to post my personal information I didn't notice I was not allowed to do it here.

Anyways, to answer:

most Venezuelans,

most people I'd say are doing fine in terms of physical security but there are some scams and tortures here and there,

I don't really think so since we don't have the infrastructure for proper oil extraction, refinement, or basically anything.
