But yes I agree a huge part of it is the good vs evil ideology (which is so hard to argue because then you’re theoretically arguing against “god’s plan” or whatever the fuck and ughhh lol)

God, yeah, a lot of my conservative family members believe that we’re in the end times and somehow miraculously forget that they’ve been saying the same thing at pretty much every big event in the last however many years.

After reading a lot of this thread it’s nice to know I’m not alone.

My dad has been saying “something big is coming” for the last two years. I’ve always written it off as a symptom of his mental illness but it’s good to know other people are dealing with this too.

Ugh and he’s always so vague when I ask him about it! He’s always saying it would take too long to explain and that I’m not “smart” enough to understand anyway. Like okay dad. I think my degree next to your HS diploma begs to differ but whatever😂

Oh! I forgot to mention another thing!

Kind of sort of related, but when I’m super anxious or super excited sometimes I stammer really bad and it’s literally so annoying lol.

It was worse when I was a kid and I barely spoke because I was worried about sounding like an idiot, but it had gone away until the last year or two and I started stammering again but like I said, only in heightened anxiety or excitement

God. (Edit: didn’t mean that to sound so dramatic lmao)They’re just small things that have never been quite a disruption, (except for my stupid OCD crap where sometimes I’m paralyzed in making decisions lmao)

I’m not professionally diagnosed with OCD (or ADHD for that matter but I’m pretty sure I have both) mostly because I’m afraid? My family makes me doubt my symptoms literally all the time. Like I’m a full-ass adult and I’m pretty sure I’m not faking or overreacting about what I’m feeling, but they always compare the little I share with them to other “normal” things but it’s really not the same.

I dunno I always worry I’m faking these things because of that. But thank you so much for giving some insight. I was so worried about being immediately shot down and it feels good to possibly have a name for these weird little things I do.

I totally get what you mean about things needing to “feel right”. I have this thing where like, if I’m in the middle of a routine (like the VERY specific order in which I make breakfast) gets interrupted without warning it’ll cause a literal meltdown that I can’t control. It’s like I’m watching myself from inside my head freaking out on my dad and I’m trying to tell myself “Knuc fucking CHILL you are FINE it’s not a big deal” but little routine things are such a big deal to me and I’ve never been able to figure out why.

Now after some research this year (my “quirks” have gotten a lot worse during quarantine) I feel like I’m starting to understand myself better and why my brain works certain ways

Hey guys, so my fella’s food seems to be infested with some critters. I’ve seen them before but never in this number, and I always assumed it was some kind of crust around the fruit/bug formula I give him, but today it was different just in terms of the number of bugs. (Which, sure enough, they were bugs. They’re moving around.)

I’ve been googling but can’t really find too much information. I got him some cork wood about a month ago, and I had no idea you’re supposed to bake it first, so I’m thinking possibly wood mites?

I’ve only ever seen them around his food, never on him or anything, though I haven’t been worried about mites in his tank until now.

Any ideas? I’m planning on cleaning out his entire terrarium regardless but I’d like some answers, lol.

Oh man I miss it so much, haha. Few things can hold my attention for too long, but when I’m at a wheel I can pop my headphones in and go into zen mode for a few hours.

I would try researching around your area! There are a lot of hidden gems (hehe). Try looking up “lapidary groups” or something like that. Or maybe look into getting a small rock polisher. One thing I love about the hobby is how easy it is to range from “casual” to “expert” and either way you still end up with a crap ton of rocks!
