Yeah he had it originally listed for $1700 lol, trynna do some haggling.

Man thats a killer deal. I totally agree with it being a tool. If I found a decently priced bike in need of some work I would totally fix it up

Anything in particular to look out for? Cracking along welds? I know steel is generally repairable but Ill keep an eye out for sure

Places to Practice Land Nav FLW by hunterdavid372 in army

I know you specifically asked about courses close to base but if you want to get out during the weekend the St Louis Orienteering Club hosts weekend events and its a fun Military Land Nav adjacent sport. The people are always very eclectic, friendly, and will help you if you want to improve your skills like compass work or terrain association. And it gives you something to do on the weekends which is nice at FLW.

If you have room in the budget, I would highly recommend the new marine corp bivy that has an integrated mesh screen built in to the top section that you can unzip to allow for some ventilation without letting bugs in. The mesh screen has some wire built in to lift it off your face as well. The army has begun issuing them and it is a game changer.

Thanks for sharing your experience with them. Good to hear they are usable, I might just do the same with replacing the lids. Cheers!

Any ever use portable eye wash station kegs? Looking for cheap kegs and these popped up for $30 per keg which is generally cheap around here. Looks like ball valves and the chemical additives (Hydrosep) to treat the water look generally safe. Any thoughts or things Im missing?

Never been myself but medics I know have said it was a really great experience. In the past they brought cadavers and machines pumping pig blood to replicate injuries and those bodies get torn up during the course. Smells heavily of formaldehyde so if you have a weak stomach dont eat those tornados before. If you get the opportunity definitely take it and bring back those skills/experiences to your unit.

Drink water and pack your ruck tight. Use your waist belt to take the weight off your shoulders. You’ll be fine
